This is so true, brother. Miz Carol goes with me most times, making sure I'm safe, got the tools I need, drives the tractor some...definitely does more than a lot of gals would...
Well, Wednesday we finished up the area with the pines... 3 more loads, total of 6, hauled more than 30 tons of pine to chip mill As a bonus, guy had a tree leaning over his driveway, wanted it gone... A tall persimmon, got 48' of logs Thursday, we went back to the house with hickory and white oak... We were able to extract the tree fron the storage building... Then we cleaned up around their house and shop...He was very lucky with this 20"+ hickory Got 2 loads done Thursday Friday, we got their main concerns done... There is a GMC Yukon under there, it wasn't running, so not as bad. Limbed and topped it, then used our tractor to lift and his tractor pulled it from under tree We moved limbs While Jerry dug and moved stumps Through this blessing, we were able to bless a retired friend/coworker, he had a heart attack a few months ago, carried them a load of smaller wood he can handle... Last load Friday night, their yard and pond are cleaned up, There is more to do later.
Quite a mess down there. Way to get it done Jeff. At the rate you're going the wood yard is gonna start looking like jrider's place.
Hellene left us without power four days here in sw Va and lots of rain and wind but nothing compared to western nc and other places
We started on a coworker's place Monday. They have some nice oaks down. Nothing hit the house, but the barn took a big oak to the roof...rafters are broken and walls bowed out. Tree service removed 3 trees from that area Some of what's left... He has been cutting trees from the yard, limbing some and cutting some logs before we got there... We started with white oaks... Cut most logs 6' on this load Red oak was next on the menu... Used the tractor to get some out of the dirt... Got 2 hung up trees down safely, pic of 1... Echo XS4910 and Stihl XS362 took care of business. 20" bar, 20 " oak. Miz Carol got some 'Bota time, pulled this 16'6" saw log out, we may sell a load of logs if price is decent. Red oak load... Still have a couple days work ahead. He said don't let the limbs and tops slow us down...... More to come
We were back at the coworker's place Tuesday. 20"+ red oak the blew over Sawdust Man will be happy to know these oak logs went to a mill for lumber, 16.5', sure made the trailer hard to tow, 35MPH... Load of red oak farwood headed home That evening, we cut white oak... Started with this one... Then tackled the hung up, hickory was laying on the stump, got 3 small logs from it Got it cut loose and pulled down safely That made a load... Cut the next one free, it's about 26" at stump...a friend wants a few logs for trailer decking...
Back at it Wednesday, first tackled the gnarly white oak on the corner of the yard, The Wood Wolverine kinda tree... The MS461 throwing some chips 32" bar... We did cut a 16" round off the stump, once it was out of the dirt. Have a guy that might want to mill the knotty part. We cleaned up some of the bigger limbs and carried a load to a friend... Then we cut a few more saw logs for the mill, helps pay for the gas and fuel. That afternoon, we cut more white oak. A friend said he would swap a deer processing for trailer decking logs... A few more days work left on this place
Yes you do. Go cut some wood this weekend Jason. If the Mrs. says something tell her buZZsaw said it was okay. Speaking of which I haven't cut any wood in a couple weeks. Need a fix myself.
Tomorrow is our anniversary. Headed to Jim Thorpe PA for a weekend getaway. No saws this weekend. Maybe Monday.
