What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

Patio is poured, forms stripped, and sealer applied. Going to saw cut a control joint, seal the joint between the patio and the brick, and set the precast step in place tomorrow morning.

 

First time seeing the northern lights tonight.

Caffeine! 40 F and I believe I’ll start burning in a few more days.

 

Golf today at 11:15. Only 36° here now . Hope it warms up a few degrees. Hopefully we fish on Sunday morning.

Caffeine! Running (and walking) a half marathon with my son this morning. 46 Degrees. Not too bad. Hopefully the little wind we have will die down by start time in a couple hours.

 

Going to a place called Norskedalen, which is close to Coon Valley, WI to see a Civil War reenactment.

 

Pumpkin patch today with the kids . Then back home home for lunch and carving.

Never seen anything like this. I remember seeing Northern Lights when I was a kid, Nothing as grand as this.

 

To be fair, cameras and phones enhance the light, so you would never be able to see the vivid and bright colors that are all over social media. Yeah, they are cool but also set up unrealistic expectations. I prefer the little bit I can see by eye. I would not mind seeing the lights way up north though in person (if, ya know, it wasn't the REALLY frozen north and I didn't have to travel a couple of days to see them). I would expect they eye could see a lot more than down this way.

 

As I went out with the dog on Thursday night, I saw the northern lights. There was no color to them but was great to watch them for awhile.

At first, I just looked up until my neck began protesting, so I leaned against the truck hoping that would help alleviate the pressure on my neck. That didn't help either. I ended up completely laying down on the lawn which was much better.......dog liked it too!

Someone on the western slope in Colorado sent some pics. It was the first time they were able to see them from their location.
