Those are ok, but unless you just want to just pull a trailer around I'd try to buy more tractor than that...lack of live PTO (if you wanna use that) and only being 4 speed (IIRC) are limiting...any loaders available are pretty antique, or homemade...oh, there are work arounds for the live PTO, but just saying...

    Goal #1 is loader
The rest would just be bonus, I really don't need a bushhog or tiller, just would be nice

    seriously..

look at an articulated load then.

All of the front axles I’ve looked at on tractors do not have the load rating for operating a loader

Yep. Had a 2n which is basically an 8n for the longest time. It had a FEL. You won't want to mow with that., outside of random brush hogging that is, and you'll find that they are tools, but have limitations and are really a hassle to use.

I checked to see and your 34 did not see how many acres you have… IMO a tractor is a good tool and you will use it more than you realize maybe less so on 5 acres.. But on 20+ you really need one

I wish I was in a better position if you’re not going to snag it

It's bigger than I was planning on,needs some minor work, but I think I can fit it on my 18ft trailer. So if he does sell I'll probably buy

I went and looked more at the specs on it.

    You may want to pass.

the information I am looking at says it does NOT have a live PTO. To me, that’s important.

I’d want it for back-up generator as well as brush hawg.

My brother has used it with a bush hog and he says it does fine, honestly I don't know what you mean by live pto

Live pto means that when you turn the pto on, it’s on.

other wise, you step on the clutch, it shuts everything down. You have to place it in neutral and release the clutch to get it to run when the tractor is stationary.

think of a rototiller or a snowblower. You want those attachments to be at full speed all of the time. If you step on the clutch because of bogging down, the attachment stops as well at the same time.

with a live pto, you can step on the clutch, to stop or downshift and the attachment still runs full speed able to clear itself

Thanks for explanation, that would be a pain in the butt for hoggin.
Still if the price is right and it fits on my trailer I think I'll buy it if he sells

I really don't care for my bush hog. It's one of the few tools I have that scares the crap out of me, plus it doesn't work very well for my more wooded area. It's hard/impossible to back up with one attached so you need to mostly make forward passes, so any tight areas are basically impossible to get at. And then the finish it leaves its just awful. Yes I know it's not a finishing mower but I can't go back over a bush hogged area with a mower!

I'd get rid of it in a heartbeat. Much rather have a flail mower.

Is that gas or diesel? They made both.
Looks like it depends on the variant...I didn't realize that, I thought the 800 series were all live...dads 801 diesel is...

If it's from the 90's and still operating well, I'd say that would be a pretty good judgment point.

    This is the gasser.
It was given to him from his wife's grandpa/dad. Before he got it it has some major repairs done where the trans/rear cases were opened up. What was done I don't know.
He's done stuff like tune up, radiator exhaust ect. Needs a hydraulic leak fixed and some tires for sure.

Check on those tires first, some sizes aren't readily available, or are extremely expensive...my brother just bought a Ford parts tractor, just for the tires!

We live in town on .5 acre
We own property about 1.5 hrs away that is 10acre.
Eventual goal is to build a homestead out there.
But tractor would be very helpful now, not only to move wood around at home but to start prepping our land
