Well went and filled up my 2 gal mix tank and forgot to add 2 cycle to it, it wasn't completely empty when I filled it so it had the color of mixed gas but when I ran it through the leaf blower (before I realized) it ran for 20 min and shut down. I have since emptied it and filled it with the proper mixture 50:1 but was wondering how much damage I did running it lean/barely any oil.
    Thanks!

You will need to pull the muffler and have a look inside at the piston, rings and cylinder. Post up a few pictures if you want and we will steer you straight

Pull muffler and look at the cylinder then pull rope slowly and look at the rings and piston skirt as it goes past the exhaust. 50:1 is already pretty lean so hope there was enough residual and you didnt put to much wear on it or scratch it all up:(:doh::headbang:

Speaking of mix, what are yall running for mix these days? I know the husky premix is 50:1. I run 25:1 in my mac 10-10. Just wondering where I should be running my 576xp and 455.

Ive seen people score the cylinder and blow the motor running just one tank of straight gas by accident. Hope you didnt but I have a bad feeling you are gonna be buying a new piston and jug :(

Don't feel bad, I had a similar brain fart years back with a 2gallon can, only put 1 bottle of oil in it.
The Pullon farmhand, and a weedeater brand blower both suffered the same fate

I know of (ok I was there:emb:) a guy that powered a chainsaw with diesel for a little while. That's what happens when your employer was to cheap to get a yellow can for diesel. Ran ok but smoked like a some beech.

Why would you try to return it? This is not a warranty claim, but simply operator error. Don't try to stick your self created problem on the manufacturer or dealer.

I agree with @Guido Salvage on this one. It was a snafu on your part I know a lot of people would return. Ultimately it's your call. I know HD is good about returning stuff has I had to return a mower one time with 3 hours on it. That was not my fault though the Trans stopped working. They did try to say I needed to contact a service rep at first.
