Identifying Wood

    This is what makes identifying wood so challenging sometimes after it's been seasoned. This is two pieces of white mulberry. One is seasoned some and the other was just split. I know you can use the bark to help, but the difference in color is amazing.

    Hickory keeps a cinnamon color after being aged for a while.

    I agree. The color change is pretty neat. It's a scarce tree around here, even scarcer as a scrounge for me.
