Noticed this weird looking little "leaf" stuck to my windshield that didn't blow off after a couple days of driving. (tip of my finger for scale). I tried to flick it off and it was stuck. IMG_6151.JPG Pulled it off and there was a maggot inside. I writhed along when I popped it out. IMG_6152.JPG I can deal with critters, spiders , snakes, bees etc, but maggots gross me out. WTH is it?

A good source of protein & substitute for beef & pork according to some folks …

Eat up & let us know if it tastes like chicken, inquiring minds want to know

    I'd suggest a teriyaki marinade.

I’m with ya Brad. Maggots are nasty. When I saw them under the bark of that big honey locust, I was taken back a minute. First time I’ve encountered them in wood.

I recall when I first joined FHC with all the talk of BL and someone had mentioned the bark smell and maggots. I checked some out at a potential score and it was true. Held me back a year before the mania took hold. Still grosses me out. Speaking of which I've only had one bark on BL score this year. I'm due.
I have access to a living leaner but may wait until the leaves are down to hit it.
