Driving across the foothills of VT this morning the temp was 45* and there was a fair amount of red in the wet areas. Usually have the wood in by now but the kids have us running around to sport activity's.

Decided it was time! Had to do the junk shuffle two step but got the area ready to load up. IMG_4149.jpeg

Not sure when I’ll be in Ohio again but thanks!
I do have a lead on some at a building material recycler. Sounds like it’s cut up into various small sizes and they will only sell it by the pallet. Haven’t made time to go check it out. It’s pretty pricy

Kinda funny you ask. I have done a similar thread the last few years and that question has come up pretty much every time. To be honest I have never actually measured the finished product. Best guess is 4-5 cord. Once it’s filled up I don’t have to bring anymore in for the heating season. Maybe this year I’ll actually put a tape measure to it.

    Bags? That’s just oregano;) lol

oh you mean the bags in the pic! Those are wood pellets. We have a 3ish season porch on the back of the house, with not the best sliding glass doors on 3 sides. Currently being used by the kids as a play room. There was a gas log fireplace out there because of the cost of propane we only really heated it on the weekends. I refused to get propane delivered because those extortion artist would charge 5$+ a gallon. I was using 40lb tanks and filling them at a welding shop for 3.50$ a gal. The tanks were always running out when I wasn’t home and the wife didn’t want to swap them out. At the end of last season I picked up a pellet stove to put out there as a hopeful solution. I only burned a few bags after I got it installed but I’m pretty optimistic.

Not much color showing along the CT River valley yet, but it is coming. We’ve had one morning at 38 degrees and several in the low 40’s.

    Where do you pass through?

Nice work! Things are starting to change a bit in SoVT. Oddly, things in the CT Flatlands are turning as well. It’s interesting to see leaves on the ground…and be outside in shorts and a t-shirt.
