Nice job handling the situation buZZsaw BRAD. I'm glad you didn't back pedal on the deal. I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but I'd bet she looked at how much a cord of hardwood goes for and decided to try to nickel and dime ya for it - thinking you were desperate to have it. I'm skeptical that she was going to donate anything to charity if you did pay up.
Town beggar crossed the line for sure. I don't pay for wood either, and sometimes feel a bit guilty when I get paid to cut wood. I would have called her bluff. She would have pocketed that $100 faster than a $5 hooker!
IIRC she did say that I would be a witness to her writing out the check. I did like one response of going to the charity in person.
Sweet. Let it sit there for a month or two in the sun to get a good head start drying. I like that rack of splits next to your house. Gets lots of sun.
I went by there about 530 and the wood still there. You wanna cut a load again tomorrow? My only offer as I'm not gonna beg you to go!
Find out when she is gone and go then. Fyi, watching her write the check doesn't mean peanuts....she could throw it out.
No , one per customer but thanks . Be interesting how long it stays there. And the pile of chips behind it?
I agree , if things didn't go sideways I would have without a doubt cut another load ; like we talked about. At this point if I got the opportunity to go back there is no way on earth I would ever step foot there. As easy as it is/was going back is not an option for me.
Reach out to the tree service and see if they are looking for a place to dump it. Provided you'd have a place for it to be dumped
That would be awesome! If that happened I'd take a pic of the log pile and send it to them with a thank you card...
I don't really. And unless they unloaded it with a skid steer at his place I doubt he'd take it. Good thing I don't have the room that jo191145 does.
I have the tree services number if you were thinking about having it dumped at your place? I drove by there twice today and wood still there. On the way home there was a guy n a PU parked next to it. Wonder if he asked about it? Mebbe I should've warned him.
