Inline 300 and it has a borg warner t-18 4 speed.

 

Finally got out for some firewood. Friend called and said this Doug Fir is coming down. Partially dead or dying. This is a 3 cord tree. The picture of the rounds does not give proper perspective. Unfortunately the rounds are in "tree Service lengths" anywhere from 15" to 22" lengths. We have gotten 3 loads out having to quarter or more the rounds then hand truck 2 pieces at a time about 80ft through a gate and to the trailer. Fairly level ground fortunately. About a load and a half for so left to go. We are splitting the wood between us (no pun intended).

 

Loads of fir. BTW that trailer is entirely made from 1/4 check plate,, except the frame,, you cannot hurt it,, its heavy tho,, bought used

 

Can tell fall is coming up, loads of nice wood are being posted a bit more.

 

I really enjoy when you have the White horse in action, I miss Black Betty.

 

I like that truck a lot. I don’t worry about briars dragging across the sides or dinging it up a little. The suspension won’t hold a whole lot of wood is my only complaint. It’s a 35 year old half ton truck. That being said it does great as long as I don’t go buck wild.

 

I got a set of springs online. 43-701 is the part number if my memory is right, it's been about 10 years. They will carry a full cord if whatever you want. They stiffen the ride a bit but they work great. My 1991 f250 has the 300 and mazda 5 spd. I have a zf5 to swap in, but I need to get some more stuff done first. Love these trucks. Wish they still made em. They aren't quick, but they'll work all day.

 

Oh, and I LOVE doug fir.

 

Some nice looking rounds. Level ground is a huge plus at a score.
Tree service lengths are always a PITA Will you recut to your length or leave as is?

 

Load of red maple cut yesterday

 

First sale of the season to a regular customer. Mixed half cord. Mostly red maple, cherry, and ash with some black birch and beech.

 

I will recut as I am keeping the wood. Lot of extra work I know but the next door Lady is a widow and just loves the cookie size cut offs, broken up, for her small insert. I keep her bins full of shorts and kibbles and bits. Easy for her to handle and fits well in her setup. Good firewood but they cause trouble in my stacks. Works out well for both of us!

 

NICE white oak.... I need to know about that saw in the back too though!

Mixed hardwood load of old inventory wood. Some past its prime. Red oak, red maple, sugar maple, beech, sassafras and tulip poplar for the most part.

 

How long do you keep that stuff around??? Past it's prime? Must be from the 1800's

 

Random remnants of partial stacks that never got sold, got wet and or uncovered. Some was recent cut deadwood. Some of the oak was 3-4 years. 75-90% was decent wood just too weather beaten. I explained to him what it was and he was pleased. After buying three cords of wood that stacked out to two and was too green as well he was happy with my liberal half cord. Second year burner and a referral customer.
