Coming home last night I spotted this pile of logs. Red oak and red maple literally right around the corner and 1/4 mile from my driveway. Tree service pads still in the yard so I stopped this morning and talked to the boss. I can take what I want as their boom truck coming next week to grab the logs. Got the okay from the homeowner this evening. Got buzz-saw in on the score as I don't want the oak. We're going in the morning to have at it. Easy park and load with some room to work. That’s a sweet score you two buzz’s. Close to home and good stuff for both of ya. Can’t beat it.

Can you believe this, Eversource is working the roads near me again. Here’s the killer, they aren’t cutting down dead trees, they’re clearing the underbrush under the lines. I have never seen crews running around clearing underbrush. Usually the towns do that with boom mowers.
With all the angst over the recent huge increase in the electric bills they decide now is a good time to start this program?
They have 15 boom trucks staged near me that fan out every day to clear underbrush. Doing the same all around the east side of the river.
Makes no sense. Makes no good firewood either LOL

My fellow CT hoarders can attest to the availability of roadside wood in the parts. Ease and quality of wood my main criteria. Plus the fact its close by helps too.

Ive said in the past I should stop and take pics of what I pass on a daily basis wood wise.

I quit buying lotto tickets many years ago.

Some of those oak logs look like they are going to be heavy. Have some noodle time coming?

I think out of all of them only 3-4 were noodled. IsoCore did the rest. Now I know why he is the leader in the warantee department.

Sheesh, next thing you are going to post that the tree service is now delivering cut and split directly to your driveway. That's one heck of a score! :dex::dex::dex::dex:

Well a couple weeks the tree service was working across the street and used their skid steer to drop a load of logs in my backyard for the mill.
    Does that count?

There was definitely a lot more there than I thought from the original pictures. I hope you both didn't get hurt by this "incident". Safety is easily overlooked. I've been wearing my chaps more often than I used to because you just never know.
