    I’ll try :)
All summer long I’ve been eating hot peppers/sauce every day building up my tolerance. A week ago I had a third of a ghost pepper, and it went fine so I had the rest. Within minutes I had stomach cramps like you wouldn’t believe, which came in waves and stuck around for an hour :picard: Moral of the story is sometimes my mouth writes a check my gut can’t cash

Not my experience, but I read once when using habanero in some kind of sauce, leave it in big pieces, to be removed later. Flavor and some heat will cook into the sauce. How much is a good question.

The garden is still producing our fall raspberries. I had our granddaughter out yesterday picking for her after school snack.

To get berries in the fall I let the rabbits mow down all the canes over the winter. Some folks simply run a mower over them right before there is much snow.

I’m dehydrating another batch of peppers this weekend. The bottom 3 tiers are all ghost peppers, and the top 2 are jalapeños. Last time, the jalapeños turned out unbelievably sweet (still spicy though), and with the texture of a fruit snack. Delicious  My plants are still producing but the season is quickly wrapping up.

We have a huge red boulder in our front yard as a lawn ornament. Wife planted switchgrass on one side and the old farm boy she’s married to plants corn on the other side. If I don’t use chicken wire the woodchucks get it when it’s tender.

First frost warning of the season was for last night so picked the last items from the garden yesterday evening. Of course, someone had to inspect everything.

Looks like the makings for any number of meals.

How was your harvest this year? I hope it met expectations.

Turned out to be a very good season. Never ran short on cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini, and summer squash. I use sauteed peppers almost every morning in my eggs so these last peppers will all get diced up and frozen.

Last harvest of the season here. Sweet potato vines covered almost the entire garden. 4 wheel barrow loads!

    Had lots of fingerlings.

Couple peppers the vines were hiding.

Did some garden work at the homestead plot.

Got in 125 garlic bulbs in one bed and grabbed what was left after critters got into my winter squash.

They are sweet potatoes. I’ll get a pic of the tag tomorrow. Should ID them more specifically. We’ve already made a batch of fries. Yum.

The Wood Wolverine thanks for the info. I googled growing conditions and length of maturity and I don't think we get enough sunshine here to grow them.

That tag says maturity is 90 days. I just looked back and saw I planted them April 27, so about 170 days ago.

Carrots at the cabin gardens were smaller this year, but just as crisp and sweet as ever!

My first time ever trying a fall crop of anything we planted peas around mid-August. They seem to be doing good.

Next year we may plant a little earlier.
