Eganperformancesaws.com has been in contact. They are working with their 3d printer guy to strengthen the part. They offered a replacement just like the one I have or wait 1.5-2 weeks for the upgrade. I'm waiting on the upgrade.

That's great that they're working to remedy the situation. Sounds like a standup company. They'll probably have to add a small radius on the internal sharp corner of those counterbores. That would increase the integrity quite a bit.

I think ~ 40 years for these AV mounts on grandpa’s old 61 is a good run. I went to start it this evening and the rear mounts sheared apart. Got to getting the tank off and was horrified at the state of the rest of them. I can’t say that The Wood Wolverine didn’t advise me to change them when I first got it  This is a good opportunity to really get the saw cleaned up anyway.

I have 3 years on the proline AV mounts for my Makita. Still look like new. Worth looking into if you can't find oem.

This is yet another area I like oem parts. Grandpa's saw is worth it.
When my son was young, he learned to work on saws with the Husky 50/51/55's. He fixed and flipped a couple and we replaced quite a few rubber bush's. I've seen plenty just like yours.

I have to believe these AV mounts were shot long before I ever inherited this saw. It’s a lot more rigid now. Ready to go after some more wood, possibly tomorrow.

Yessir, one of the four 24” chains that came with that 372xp I bought back in May. I converted 2 of them to square filed

These will be on the bench soon. I'll pick them up from the auction next Tuesday. Even if none of them are salvageable there is a lot of magnesium and it was well worth the price just for gtg camp fires shenanigans.

I'm thinking so. I've had many of these in the past and only one wouldn't run. That was because the muffler was full of loose rust and people pulling it over at the auction runied the piston. I'll probably give away any runners to friends n family. Errbody needs a baby saw or 5. Lol

The one guy with a tree service I fix saws for used to climb for another guy and he bought the cheap green poulans but didn’t tell the store they were for pro use. John said they would wear out about the time the warranty covered then they would get new ones under the warranty. Only took a few times before poulan and the store caught on. Weren’t even the yellow pro with chrome bores.

My very first saw at about 11-12, was given to me for free when I found it in the back of a garage when I was cleaning it out for a family friend. Twin throttle levers just like that cut lots of wood with it till finally lost compression and got weak.

This one looks to have the original bar and chain. Factory grind. Almost no scratches on the bar. It still had that safety tip on the end. It has very strong compression. Carb has never seen corn squeezins. Mint inside.
