Hopefully not. Too far from me and my sources for BL are drying up.

He messaged me and will take a 100 pcs of oak. I have chestnut oak split smaller from January of last year. It'll be drier than any other oak he'll find.

Maybe I'll start marketing to the sauna community! A sale is a sale!

I don't blame you. Nobody in my area sells pear. After a while a few of my customers tried it and like it.

Oh the horror! Is BL getting harder to find now? I imagine you'll be driving every back road on the lookout.

In all seriousness, if you create an ad directed to sauna owners, you may get some extra business because nobody else is probably already doing that.

Most of my BL comes from storm clean up wood and downed trees from a couple storms four years ago.
Ill just have to get an earlier start this Fall. The big honey holes are kinda gone and each score will be a PU full at best. A few spots with just a blowover and I have to get the okay.

Ill keep what I have listed on FBM up with no new ones. The only thing I don't like is the guy is farther than I like to go. I charged an extra $25 for delivery. Shouldve charged more but didn't wanna lose the sale.

Well he came through. 100+ PCs of chestnut oak delivered today. Ha had asked for oak or birch. This was CSS January of last year and intended for bundles so split smaller than general cordage for the most part. I dug up a piece of birch and a split of cottonwood (on the tailboard)to show him btu differences.
I should've got more for the delivery, but it was a sale. And he bought the $10 box of cedar kindling I brought along. IMG_6005.JPG

Got a call today from a long time regular. She wants her first half cord soon. First volume sale of the season! Woohoo! Also had an inquiry about smoking bundles today as well. Too far for delivery, but offered to meet halfway. Waiting to hear back.

What are you projections for the holiday weekend sales wise? Is it normally good for you?

Good deal! I don't think I've ever had chestnut oak. Did that make much of a dent in your bundle wood inventory?

Today has been decent. So far 7 bundles, 2 small stacks of mixed hardwoods and a bag of smoking wood. I don't know if it will be as good as Memorial Day but I expect a decent week. Last year was $520 just out of the roadside stand.

100 splits will make roughly 15 bundles so not really. I've only had CO twice and it splits very easily and has a heavenly vanilla whiskey aroma. Variety of white oak.

Bundle inventory is around ten cords of which 4-5 is ready or close to it.

I finally filled the last row of the bundle wood I store here at home. Brought 16 months dried pin oak and some tulip from storage to top it off. IMG_5990.JPG This stack is about 1.75 cords along with a 2.25 cord stack behind the shed that will begin getting used later in the Winter unless its really cold.

I have my first half cord for the season going out this weekend. Longtime regular. 30 bundle order to a local station going tomorrow. Noticed he is getting low. I have 90 ready to go.

Setup for splitting silver maple. I built another rack that holds about 1/4 cord. The weather was beautiful and the fan made a nice breeze.[IMG]

Perfect set up! I like it

Delivered 30 bundles yesterday. Finally hooked up with a FBM order for ten smoker bundles. Delivered six hickory and four apple. Gave him a free delivery as I didn't have to wrap or resplit them.

Also sold the quarter cord of mulberry too. When I talked to the guy he asked for more wood so I made it a half cord. Just under an hour one way, but I got enough for it. IMG_6010.JPG IMG_6011.JPG Have a half cord going out tomorrow to a long time regular. First order of the season. Just have to wheelbarrow it to the back of her garage and stack inside. My labor day weekend will end up very good sales wise.

How are your sales so far?
