Well, today is the first full day of fall. By the looks of the trees around the property the color change is coming fast and quick. So far, we have had 2 good frosts, Sept 23 2014 003.JPG Sept 23 2014 004.JPG Sept 23 2014 005.JPG but the temps are supposed to be climbing into the high 70's and low 80's with lots of sun for the rest of the week. Will definitely be heading out on the Wing this weekend to check out the colors up by Algonquin Provincial Park.

Yes Fall arrived here this morning 55F, a nice light breeze all day, my pool has dropped to 71F - but I still plan on a few drunken cannonballs this week before covering it up.
There's nothing better than the outdoor fireplace glowing red, a "few" beverages, and a late night swim in a near "feels like" ice bath.

I hate when summer fades away, but the burning season eventually comes, restocking the piles and before long spring will be back

I just hope it doesn't fade too fast. We were burning a couple weeks ago.

It's fading fast now - I can tell by how much farther the sum is in the southern hemisphere, dark on the drive to work, sunset when I leave work.
I was just waiting for a cool morning - we've seen humidity and low 90's the past week, opening up all the windows and bundling up in the bed last night was a welcome Fall for me

The colors are starting to come out down here as well. This one is always our first tree to change and its well along.

That's gotta feel like a normal swim in Lakes Michigan or Superior. Usually Superior will top out around 72 in early September then begin to cool again. For sure, you know you've been swimming when coming out! I'd rather stay out.

Probably so Dennis. I remember swimming at the beach in southern Maine - it rarely got over 75.
I think what makes 70 deg water worse is the low humidity outside - that already cold water wicks off your skin even faster.
When I swim(basically everyday or after I get home from work) in the summer the pool stays around 76-80, you feel refreshed but not thermally shocked. Walking into the air conditioned house is like hitting a freezer.
