Best of luck with all the rain. My SIL lives in Southprt NC. Lots of rain there.

We're supposed to get heavy rains from the TS early Saturday morning, pre-dawn.

We are getting hammered! Trees down and flooding. I’m at work so there’s back up power if we lose it. It’s not going to be good for folks near waterways.

Well, we ended up with over 3” from Debby remnants. Have had some health issues for a week or so so haven’t been online for awhile. Grass grew so much that I was thinking it was going to need raked and baled:hair:. We needed the moisture so no complaints.

About 90mins SW of here, parts of CT received up to 10in rain over a few hours yesterday and overnight.

I hope the FHC CT crew made out OK.

We got lucky. The cell that dropped that rain was to our south west and just glanced us. It rained hard here for a bit. Can’t imagine how hard in those areas of CT.

Edit: Just took a look at the weather station data from yesterday; 4.3” of rain here. Guess it was more rain than I realized!

It sure rained a lot here too.

Fortunately the line of storms that came from the west were fast moving. Got 1.5" in 20 minutes. Did get a bunch of lightning and thunder. One bolt was so loud and close it may have hit something in the block behind my house. When it hit, I jumped and did the big pull in the shoulders and arms real tight - as if that would have kept me from being hit at that point - LOL

May have picked up a bit more thru the night, but that would have had little consequence

We had a fast moving thunderstorm come thru Sunday evening. We fared ok, a few small limbs down...our daughter at the end of our road lost power for a couple hrs. Others weren't so lucky...some lost power for 8-16 hrs, some had trees down and property damage...
Pictures are from a subdivision north of the town I work in...
We will help this friend clean up this oak... 20240819_184859.jpg
May get some of this wood too... 20240819_190743.jpg 20240819_191009.jpg 20240819_191021.jpg
    Pine in his yard 20240819_190832.jpg
This big pine went thru the roof... 20240819_191622.jpg
A couple more oak in that neighborhood... 20240819_191746.jpg 20240819_191805.jpg
A coworker's house and truck got hit by a big tree...

Thinking that was the same cell that shut me down for a bit. I heard the thunder, then some sprinkles and took a while for the heavy rain to hit. I was very close to 691 where it turns into 66.

T.Jeff Veal Yes, another issues with our SYP. They are shallow rooted and will go over easy with heavy rains followed by wind:picard:

Another system came thru Sandersville Thursday evening...a couple sections of town lost power...
A pine tree split off and took down the lines...
And another section a huge oak broke off, they were cleaning it up Friday morning early... 20240830_180746.jpg 20240830_180803.jpg 20240830_180812.jpg 20240830_180822.jpg 20240830_180834.jpg
