    This is on offer up asking $8000.
    Walking is rough on me and I'm wondering....
    say's it has 3hrs on the meter. My yard is small btw.

    Do you think it's a good idea for a guy of my size?
    I don't want to give up yard work but I can't walk the hour it takes for me to use my 21" walk behind.

    Where’s Roy D. Mercer when ya need him…

    Not entirely sure on that one Keith- are you the power forward and backward on your current mower or is it self propelled?

    Worst case scenario- buy a ride on?

    I realize the goal here is to minimize the walking time….

    A cheaper option may be a 36-48” Walk behind. Yes, it’s going to involve walking. But a bigger deck will make short work of a lawn you are cutting with a 21” mower.

    This past spring, we brought our 48” walk behind mower up to VT one weekend in the spring. It cut the time to mow down significantly vs the 21”.

    Also, you could get a sulky for a walk behind and eliminate the walking all together.

    Definitely something to consider, thanks!
    This all started when I was stuck by a train with nothing to do but watch a guy using a small stand on and let's say i was impressed.

    That’s a high quality machine Keith. If it’s the 36” it looks like they sell for around 9k new. I’d say go for it if you have the money to try it. Worst case it doesn’t work out and you sell it for close to what you paid.

    I'm sure that would do you a fine job...but Scag is top of the line commercial, you could probably buy a new one of another brand for less, and still get something that'll last you forever

    Scag are excellent machines. Made here in Wisconsin too.
    Those standing mowers are really more leaning forward and a little standing.

    Scag is definitely a quality machine, been using my tiger cub since 2004 with no problems, just basic maintenance and a couple wear items.

    I can stand well enough as it's my joints that are shot. Maybe a forward lean would actually be more comfortable??
    He has the receipt, bought this April for 9k plus tax ect. Said he would drop to $7500 but that's the lowest he could go.

    Personally, I'd consider that to be just as good of a machine as a Scag, at least for all but the most hard core commercial guys...and I say that only because I think Scags are a lil faster (maybe?) but I've not researched standers either so...
