Another cool morning for cutting a standing hickory. Very high quality trunk wood all the way to the crown. Cutting down a poplar next. Not my favorite wood, but removing as pay back for the owner letting me take a lot of nice wood. IMG_0986.jpeg IMG_0987.jpeg IMG_0988.jpeg

Seems to be working for you:thumbs: Drive reminds me of Ohio with quick and easy access for loading before deliveries.

Log rollers work when you are any size. They are used to gain leverage. At 160 pounds, you shouldn't have much issue rolling those pictured logs over with a good cant hook.

Started my firewood week by rescuing some veneer and stave white oak cut offs from the burn pile. Today's logs were much longer than usual, so bagged a 1/2 cord with about 1/3 of a face cord ready to pickup tomorrow. All the logs had double hearts, so noodling was required since the Fiskars just bounced off the rounds. Approximately a $450 Nashville load that took about two hours of work. My wife helped unload; what a beast she is.

IMG_1001.jpeg IMG_1002.jpeg This place is a beehive of activity. White oak comes in, gets graded and then hauled away to surrounding states. My logger is well stocked with white oak, hickory and cherry. Ten times as much is across the road from the firewood processing area.

Pure awesomeness! How do you keep the tops attached? The wind really picks up in October and November in middle Tn and top covering is difficult to keep in place.

I buy 15' ratchet straps from Harbor Freight when they're on sale. Cinch them down and the tops stay put. I can usually get a few years out of a strap even when they are in the weather year round.

Middle Tn is in a H2O drought, but Benjamins are pouring in hard for firewood. Have made a lot of one and two face cord deliveries this month, but did three today and will do three a day through next Wednesday. With tips, approximately $900 a day. That will put some inflation jacked up food on the table.

Over three hours of driving and two hours of wheelbarrowing and stacking today. Got back home and loaded another three face cords for tomorrow's delivery. Another three face cords going to this lawyer dudes lake house 130 miles away Sunday. It will take me about three hours to wheelbarrow and stack this cord on the first and third level of the house. Have to hand carry up all the steps. Don't feel sorry for me, I am being well compensated.

Sweet free load of excellent firewood. You certainly have the friend/word of mouth working for you. “Have chain saw, will travel.” My favorite western growing up.

IMG_1028.jpeg IMG_1027.jpeg Delivered the third cord to my lawyer’s main residence today. Last cord to the lake house is on tap for tomorrow. Oh, his wife also has her own practice. A lot of my customers could care less about price, they just want the best firewood available.

Heat is coming on strong this coming week and I have deliveries scheduled. Looks like three days of 100. I bring a two gallon jug of ice water and take a two minute break every 10-15 minutes. Benjamin’s keep me motivated.

260 mile round trip and over two and a half hours of climbing stairs and stacking. I didn't have much ice water remaining afterwards. Major Benjamin harvest, so no complaints.
