Home today and tree service was diagonally across the street. I asked about the wood and they were glad to pass it along to me. They didn’t want to have to haul it back with them. Delivered to a pile in the backyard with their skid steer. It was just a case of good timing.
Looks like there might be some good mill logs in there. IMG_2163.jpeg IMG_2162.jpeg IMG_2161.jpeg

Nice ambrosia red maple. It would definitely be cool to see one milled up

    Thanks.
Anything I can mill will go there . The rest firewood. It is a shame they would back haul this and just dispose of it.
Just dumb luck I was home today and in the right place at the right time.

Great timing and score. Yes, that will make some nice boards or turning blanks.

Whenever I hear the sound of chainsaws or big commercial wood chippers, I drive by to see what's going on. Twice I've scored huge loads of logs when tree services were working in the area. Train your brain to think twice when you hear those sounds and you can often snag some easy logs.

Can't tell if that's saw blade marks or curly grain. Pretty boards to me

There are some blade marks. It was a new blade, but for some reason, it just wasn’t happy
I’m guessing there was a couple of teeth that weren’t set right?
