That’s an awesome ballast. My eyes popped out of my head when I saw what the dealers want for a fabricated one. I considered TYM but there aren’t any dealers to speak of around here. 3 JD dealers all an hour away, Kubota 3 miles away and Kioti 15 minutes away.

I am always impressed with the BX you have it’s a little giant. That TYM will speed larger jobs up, that’s for sure.

Definetly have to have a good..close dealer. Mine is within walking distance.
Be patient..there dealer numbers are growing steadily .....they are a force to be reckoned with. My Kubota dealer is also within walking distance. So we started there with a quote..as you know I love orange. I was blown away..that for a comparable tractor...kubota was $15,000-$20000 more expensive. This is not a misprint.
I'm more loyal to my savings account..than paint color I guess lol !
Thank you for the compliment on the bx ! That old girl owes me nothing ! It's gonna live out it's days taking it easy now ...well..most of the time ! I would recommend a BX to anyone !

The ballast..was built by my grandfather..50 or 60 years ago ! I pulled it out of the weeds..back in service! Keeps the tires planted on the ground pretty good. I'm guessing 600-800 lbs..just by feel !

Wanted to mention too...my tractor came with some features..that usually are extra money on a Kubota..as an add on..or going up to a fancier tractor model.
Adjustable 3 point lower stabilizers..not the screw type.
The ends of the lower links extend out for making hookup easier.
There's a lever in the rear..so you can move the 3 point hitch up and down from back there. So cool !
One set of rear remotes..with the option for another.
    An actual drawbar !
A nice adjustable suspension seat with arm rests.
    Tilt steering wheel.
    Fender mounted loader control.
    Cruise control.
Auto throttle..along with a hand throttle.
Push button pto...and auto pto..which shuts the pto off when u raise your implement up..and turns it back on when you lower it down. ( not sure if I'll ever use that lol )
    Rubber floor mats.
Even has swivel led work lights and a Bluetooth speaker up on the ROPS !
    SSQA ...

The list goes on and on ..as I'm sure I'm forgetting things !

Even the 3rd function is a factory kit..optional...but factory. Hard lines...high quality.

Does it have a turbo for the engine?

TYM dealer over an hour away. So are kubota, kioti, deere. I think this is the 3rd brand the same guy has been a dealer for in probably less than 5 years. (mahindra.....LS.....tym) he seems to bounce around a bit

No turbo on the 474..but I believe the next one up..the 574...has the same engine with a turbo. Gives it like 7 more hp...and I believe it's the next frame size up too.

We have a dealer a little ways from us..thats has had 4 or 5 different brands in the last 20 years. They have LS now too.....but I won't consider a dealer like that .

I think the way TYM is coming on strong..most dealers are gonna be on the newer side of things.
I rolled the dice cuz I felt good enough about my local dealer. Just an educated guess I suppose lol !

Congrats my friend! Happy to see you having so much fun with your new equipment. When I started my internet research searching for a new tractor I gave serious consideration to the 474. Until I found out there were no nearby dealers. My choices were Kubota, LS, and Kioti.

I fell into a smokin’ deal on a used 2020 Kioti 3510seh with 140ish hours on it and saved roughly 10k versus buying a new one. I have been very happy so far. If this tractor looks familiar to some it’s because Kioti jointly developed the L series with Kubota in the 80s: IMG_4508.jpeg

I highly recommend you pick up a set of Pat’s quick hitches and a pto link system… both are game changers for 3 pt equipment: IMG_4521.jpeg

Hey Thanks ! I appreciate it. You definitely have to have a local dealer. That makes or breaks it.
I was looking at Kioti myself....I think they are a tough tractor !! Looks like yours is made to work !
The TYM just felt right to me. Fit like a glove...and I operated it like I had been for a long time. Felt right to take a risk on the brand..and the local dealer too. Haven't gambled in a while lol !
10-4 on the Pat's ....ive got that on my Kubota bx...and I agree..game changer ! I'll be ordering some for the TYM soon !
Tell me more about this pto link system !

A consideration I had as well..moving up probably 3 sizes...is this was as big as I could go up...without having to buy a new trailer...and a bigger truck to pull it. The madness has to stop somewhere ! Doesn't it ? Lol ;)

haha thanks man! I like it too. I did drive 1.5 hours and sit on a 474. You got yourself a great machine.

there really isn’t much I could say about the pto link that this short video doesn’t show better:

it’s way way better than riding the struggle bus trying to get those splines lined up just right! I ordered mine right from the pat’s page when I ordered the quick hitches. I believe it shipped directly from pto link though.
