Think We Found A Pellet Stove.

Not familiar with the brand, so can't offer advice on it. If it were my money, I'd head over to am fm energy, and pick up a refurbed Englander/Timber ridge. I'm going to assume the Englander is a better stove, definitely have more customer service with Englander. I'd go with a bigger stove too. "my stove is too big" is not overheard very often...

 

That might work until the temp drops down to 20f, then you will be hard pressed to maintain 70 f, how long will te wood stove be out when you want this to kick in. This one has a stat so you can have it kick in at a certain temp. Also this one needs the burn pot cleaned out daily. You won't burn a lot of pellets because it doesn't have the capacity to do that. I don't know anyone who has one. The Engladers are more popular around here.
You might want to pm Mike Holton (member). He'll give you an honest assessment.
Whatever, avoid a fussy stove. You don't want a bottom shelf stove that only burn top shelf pellets.

If you had a place for an insert and didn't mind an hour or so drive west, I'd make you a heck of a good deal on a US Stove 6041.

 

For the DIY person, the Englander has the best support.

 

IMO, the Englander is the best choice for what you want, mainly due to it's being a well known brand, and the customer service is second to none in the pellet industry. The one you pictured may run fine for a while, but as others have said, when the temps start to drop, it won't keep up. And as far as service is concerned.....who knows???

Both of the ones below are the more modern single auger design, too.

The price for the leg kit and/or the pedestal is insane. But except for those, it's the same box.

As I said in the PMs Pete, it's not a Cadillac, but it does burn well, especially after the folks here (when they were over there) helped me get things dialed in.

I didn't have any plans to sell it, but I've only put two bags through it since I got the furnace, so if I can maybe help another member out, then it's all good. If something else fits your needs better, then that's perfectly fine too. Having four ways to heat the house isn't always a bad thing. Same reason I have three generators, five chainsaws, the list goes on....

 

I had/have the 6039i the predecessor to the 6041. I loved my stove. Mine had no ignitor, I believe the 6041 has one. Basic stove with a lot of adjustability. Heat exchanger left something to be desired. It is not the same as the freestanding and the leg kit will not work. The body on the insert is deeper than a freestanding unit. The guts and electronics are shared. That's not to say you couldn't make it work, but permits and insurance companies will have something to say. I think you almost have to make a mini fireplace to put it in. Then again I live in N.Y. and everyone is in my business and perhaps you may live in an area where they trust you have enough common sense to install a stove safely.

No problem. I thought the insert was the same "box" as the others, but @schoondog corrected my assumption.

Better safe than sorry, especially when inspectors and insurance agencies are involved. The last thing anyone needs is any type of reason for an insurance company to drop you or deny a claim if something bad were to happen.
