I've never been far enough ahead on cherry to keep any for 18 months! I was fortunate enough to get a few cords of already seasoned rounds last year. I've been able to split and sell immediately, which has been really nice. Maybe you can send a couple cherry logs my way so I can add to my inventory?:D

I purchased four face cords of mixed hardwood for my Dad this weekend from my local logger. He provides generous ricks, so almost five face cords. $240 + $10 delivery fee. This is why I drive 60-80 miles to the Nashville area to sell my firewood. Spent four hours re-splitting and stacking half of it.

Curious as to how much firewood someone needs to get through a typical "winter" down there in Tn?

I think it's more want than needs.

My elderly parents like to keep the house at a constant 75 degrees throughout the Winter. My Dad has a big box stove in the garage that has a duct and blower that feeds into the HVAC lines. They plow through around 6-8 cords a Winter. With my Lopi Endeavor NexGen I'll maybe burn through 4-6 face cords. So that big dump of firewood might last a month in the coldest period.

And my Dad and I primarily burn oak and hickory, so would burn a lot more with lesser BTU firewood.

    Ok, I’ll go there.

Isn’t it a an awfully long drive to Delaware just to cut firewood …

"The Big Guy" would want 10% percent of my firewood. At least that is his normal cut from Hunter's deals.

Did a little clean-up job for my coworker Friday, he had a few cherry and a small pecan tree he wanted cut too. Brought it home in 16" rounds... 20240722_195605.jpg

Rare to see you bring it home already bucked. Whats it like doing it the buZZsaw way?

We did it that way before we got a tractor. We had it in short logs, was gonna bring it home on trailer with tractor. Tractor started acting up and it also started raining.

IMG_0959.jpeg IMG_0960.jpeg I primarily sell white oak and hickory, but cherry is what I drop everything on my schedule for if I can cut or buy it. No other seller around Nashville has it in large quantities, so the cherry market is easy money for me.

Had a white oak delivery today in Brentwood, Tn. to a three year customer. My JD manager just happened to contact me yesterday afternoon and we agreed to meet up close by. A :90 minute drive for both of us. He paid me with six bottles of the good stuff.
