My son and his family live upstairs, which is a full apartment. He has two teenage kids. His wife runs the washer and dryer everyday. Plus there is an extra refrigerator, and stove to consider. Our stove is gas.

I might have a pig trap for that varmint but my raccoon family made off with the small critter trap with a chipmunk in it. It was a multi trap.

Using your "swimming pool" method, I've gotten 18 chipmunks, and four mice in three weeks.

After almost 2 weeks of the ACs running 24/7, man this air this morning feels great.

It was so nice turning off the AC at night and using window fans in the morning to get the house down to 70*. Oh, and let's not forget the humidity, that is down about 15% inside. Even the garage had gotten up to 74* and I opened it for several hours to get its temp down too.

On repeat this morning - but the garage is only at 70* right now so I'll be able to get it even cooler this morning.

I'd planned on moving a ton or two of pellets from my yard into the garage yesterday morning, but events overcame that so hopefully this morning.

    :makeitrain"

I was happy when I could turn them off. Even during the day we've been able to get away with just fans. Been closing the windows keeping the heat out about 10 am and not opening them until later in the evening. Only room we've had to run the a/c is the kids room which only has the one window which the a/c is in.

I got a couple of tons of pellets moved from the yard and into the garage yesterday morning First is proof of a garage that has zero pellets

    empty garage.jpg

4 tons of pellets that have been waiting in the yard since March - of course I didn't take the picture until after I had loaded some into the truck. I did not use a tarp to cover them this time, just that piece of black plastic that you can see is pealed back. I did secure the plastic with some pallet wrap plastic as well as using rocks and other heavy items to make sure it didn't go anywhere.

(next picture taken prior to the above picture) When I went to slice the pallet cover bag, I saw that some Gray Tree Frogs had taken residence between the black plastic and the pellets. They were very reluctant to vacate the area - especially the toad in the upper right.

The first pallet I filled with pellets I could get rows of 6
    Skid with 6-bag rowas.jpg

The very last load for the day, and I did this oppsie. Totally my fault as I should have taken the bag to the left of it first (that bag was leaning against the ripped bag becuase that is the narrow part). I was able to save the majority of the pellets.

Two tons in the garage. The stack in back has 80 bags - I stuck the two on top as they were the last two bags in the truck before grabbing the next 20 from the yard.

Reminder to myself since I keep track of the pellets in the house and garage during burning season
skid with 6 bag rows equals 80 bags.jpg

Hopefully I can get another ton, or both tons, into the garage today. I can tell I'm getting old as the last time I had tonnage in the yard, I would have zipped this stuff out in an hour. I wasn't nearly so fast yesterday, and had to stop for breaks, which irked the heck out of me.:BrianK:

    :D

Funny how the critters think thats a great place to live. First time I've seen frogs though. Usually we get crickets and other bugs. The next spot is under the pallets, Wife just luv's finding the snake or what the snake is after for dinner. I'm just glad I haven't found the stinky black and white critter my neighbor had found under his. He couldn't bring the bottom row of pellets in the house the bags stunk so bad of skunk. They got burned in the outside fire pit along with the skid.

I would rather not think about age. Nothing good to come about thinking how old you are. Think of it as a time to be more innovative. How to work smarter, or do I really need that?
