This is the RV Resort that is being built in our town...Home - Sanwar RV Park & Resort We're friends with the guy that does most of the land clearing. We have gotten 4 trailer loads of goldilocks oak from there before. He called us Tuesday morning, said he had a nice pile of logs saved for us, could we pick it up soon... So, Thursday morning, we back to town after work with Godzilla and the dump trailer. Part of the pile...oak and cherry... Even better, he loads us with the JD60 mini-excavator...... Piled it high... Then he told us about a big log in the back, they had the tree taken down... It was so big, the mini-excavator nor the skid steer could pick it up, they rolled it there... 28" bar on the MS461, log is 14' long. I finished a partial cut they had started, then made another cut at 54"... Almost a trailer load...
Godzilla..you're new truck. For a second I thought you were referring to Ms. Carol! Some nice logs there. Good to have connections.
The temps around here have been too warm for me to grab the chainsaw and finish bucking/hauling out the 22" ash I dropped in the woods. I can't imagine how bad it must be is in your neck of the woods regarding temps! Good job!
We have had some nasty days, this wasn't bad...watch him load it... Had some shade where I cut the big log. AC is in the new truck too.
Got the load sorted this morning... The cherry logs...front and back A few skinnies for that shed 4 small white oak logs The pile of red oak family logs Processing time now...
I'm with you. I was splitting a few rounds I had the other day, when it was "cooler" out. I still ended up sweating through my shirt, the humidity was still pretty high. Running a saw cutting up logs right next to him at Denny's GTG the first days of May, I was full sweat and he wasn't showing any sign of being warm. For the safe of science, how would you do in 8° weather and a few inches of snow T.Jeff Veal ? Nice work, and a great score!
We got the cherry logs CSS last night... Pile of 16" rounds Miz Carol enjoying the 42" fan while I loaded the splitter again... Another load on the lift... Made about 1/3 cord... Finished about 10PM. Took less than an hour, once we got the ladder and lights set up.
Found 4 skinny cherry logs from a previous load we got from the campground. CSS those last night. Made a start on the next row.
You motivated me T.Jeff Veal . It was about 70° and not as humid at 58 dew point after dinner, so I went down and cut a few honey locust rounds that were too long and split nearly all that I had left of my last score. 2 hours of work. Now I'm ready for my next score. I have a feeling you'll beat me to that.
