Hats off to you for working this hard during the dog days of summer :tip:Nice (albeit BIG!) log to work with. Lots of noodling fun going on there. Was that killed by beech leaf disease or are the beeches in your area fairing ok still?

Good idea to roll it. :salute:

I've used a clothesline hook and a come-a-long hooked to my bumper to roll a big log.

Thanks buddy! I was definitely spent by the time I ran out of fuel. This tree wasn’t killed by the beech leaf disease. It was a large removal leaning over someone’s house that had the opposite side heavily pruned over the years for line clearance.

Definitely a trick I’ll have to remember. Nice to get it away from the big bush too making it easier to work on from both sides.

Ready for splitting. Any guesses on how many face cord it’ll end up being once stacked? C2B5CDEE-7F9F-41F9-B8C1-367CB6657C65.jpeg B12FEF5A-1E0B-4D92-B86D-EF8E245D5E45.jpeg

I'd guess a full cord and a half. Not experienced with the faces or ricks.

First load split. Gonna do a load each morning till it’s done. More than I thought would be there. FD021F4B-D56A-4BAE-9A26-8236718FB570.jpeg 8C040225-CEE3-4347-B4BF-C578BDA61DCA.jpeg 574BE639-7BDD-49A8-B9B5-C060E5B56038.jpeg

Forgot how nice it was too. I like to burn all the splitter scraps as I go at my place, which can be a lot to keep up with at times. Going for another load in the morning.

I'd rake and keep all those noodles, they come in handy around the farm! Good for you getting all that work done in the heat!

Another dump truck load out this morning, and a pretty good pile of nuglies building. Definitely one more load to go. Not sure how much more than that. Pics are what’s still there to split. Mornings haven’t been too bad, but yeah, still pretty balmy by the time I’m finished. Really want to get this done before I go on vacation next week. Would rather know it’s not waiting on me when I get back:hair:

DSC04531.JPG This pile of wood is now split and stacked. Took me a few months to get it all processed. We have had a lot of rain and heat and a honey do list that delayed the work. I will now have to seed the spot where the wood blocks were stacked.

Third load out this morning. Nice and cool for working this morning. Have about 20 or so pieces left to split to finish. Nugly pile is getting big. I’ll burn all those in the morso. Lots added to that today with odds and ends pieces. 8EFDFE02-13E4-482C-904B-59F568157AE7.jpeg 0A5C4D6D-2906-449B-B4E2-C47125172F62.jpeg

Finished processing everything this morning. Not quite a full load, but a respectable one. Gonna let the nuglies dry where they are and I’ll get them when I need them. Now for some stacking:stacker:o_O 4160DDE8-382D-46F1-8799-DD74AB5806FF.jpeg 78F1202A-7969-4807-A3E2-0763F405911C.jpeg D9C7FF53-32B1-4F4C-BF14-E618AD30038A.jpeg
