For me I got ballsy and decided to head straight down the hill I usually weedeat or pushmow sideways depending on the weather and my mood. It didn't look that steep. It takes off and I'm bouncing up and down on the seat and the mower is turning off and back on with the blades going. Finally hit a level spot and run into the woods and hit a tree.

    Woops.

went to pass the spreader on the open road as you do …

    No turn signal nothing.

turned into the field on the left as I was beside him.

I got shotgun peppered with shattered safety glass. Minor glass cuts on my exposed skin. Otherwise just a hurt pride.

“oil pan is dry”. Meaning, the oil pan was punctured and drained out.

FarmerJ Oh no! after all that has been happening. I am sure glad you are alright. Definitely not cosmetic damage to the truck.

I'd replace the decks and siding if I could. I can't make up my mind on how reasonable the price is (our dollar does exchange for less than yours in the US), but I think I somewhat agree. It is a large building and done well inside, if not done to my personal taste, and it does have some beautiful views.
On the other hand, it is in a very small community, in a rather remote location as far as getting to many major amenities, and at least several minutes to even small conveniences; but then it's fairly close to one of NL's biggest tourist areas, which is probably why they're trying to ask what they are. If it was closer to the city, but immediately surrounded by similar scenery, I think it'd be worth the asking price no questions asked (to someone, anyway).

On that note, It's crazy what houses are "worth" in some places. A house that might cost 150K where I live might be literally worth a million in Vancouver, British Columbia.

I just don't go outside for anything when the weather isn't good for me. The exception being medical appointments and only then if the roads are safe. I don't have to go out for anything much anymore. I can always go out early AM or in the PM should I need to water the plants etc.

I find myself falling into that same category more and more.

No reason to try to beat the heat if you don't have to!

The part where you say “small community in a rather remote location” sounds just about perfect to me:thumbs:

Oh, I agree, but for practical purposes there's one extreme and then the other, and I suppose different folks have different ideas of a happy medium. Houses however do tend to be cheaper the further you go from town, which works just fine for me.

I mean, don't want my neighbor 8 feet from my window, I don't want a wal mart next door, or need a large supermarket 5 minutes away, but to be in a tiny hamlet and a half hour or more from so much as a small convenience store/gas station would probably be a little too far out for me, as far as a full time residence goes. unless the location and the property in question offered some special incentive. Many of us dream of a cabin in the woods with nobody for miles around, but in the real world, when you have to get to work 5 days a week, and worry about emergency and public services, you dream of that cabin in a bed far away from it.

I keep hearing military jets in the air, just can't see them. With the RNC in Milwaukee and EAA in Oshkosh, there's a lot of military jets flying around.
I just wish I could see the jets. I'm always fascinated by military aircraft. They sounded like they were doing a lake Michigan shoreline run.

Had 3 low flight levels here last week. One of them did a banking turn (of course) as it passed over.
