Been away from hoarding any firewood lately but had a relatively cool day here so decided to head to the neighbor’s and move some wood down to the trail. First try using the quad to move the logs with the new hitch attachment. Actually worked well once I remembered how to tie a clove hitch. Was nice not having to spend three days clearing the trail this year. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I have about 6 acres of mature trees on my property. The 2 acres adjacent to my home would be more than enough to supply me if I chose to fall some of the trees. The neighbor has a lot of windfall above his house on the trail and would keep me going for several years with just that alone. I also have property adjacent to state land and get quite a bit just keeping the road clear for the power company right of way. Mostly Alder. Fir is available with a state permit on the numerous logging operations in the area. I haven’t fell a tree in several years as the windfalls have supplied me well.
