Hello, I left Reddit to come here and hopefully get some real advice. Firstly, this is what I could afford and a friend of mine swear by them. Pulled it from a home renovation job. Many people have suggested I need a Baffle for this stove. But it’s rather old and I’m very green when it comes to stoves. Before I get the pipe in place I’d like to get the stove set up. Welcome to the FHC stanjohnson193 first off people will debate stoves quality etc until end of time.. MOST problems new burners have is their fuel and they THINK it’s their stove. start getting wood cut split stacked (CSS) now and let it sit in that Texas sun
Google, Ceramic Fiber Insulation Board. Especially look on the big auction site. I used 1" to whatever dimensions L & W are needed. Easy to cut, handle and install. It lasted several seasons and was going strong until we had to change stoves to a new epa jobber. That thing will throw tons of heat like any other steel box smoke dragon. Watch your clearances too, it looks tight in that corner. Enjoy the new stove. Owl
WeldrDave and Coaly are knowledgeable on this type stove. Maybe they can lend a hand in guiding the baffle install.
