The warning on TV mentioned Monkton Ridge as the closest location to me. About 8 miles east of me. There was lots of rain but the sun is trying to come out now.

We are getting weather warnings for later this afternoon and early PM. I have taken down my hanging plants and have them in a sheltered area. Might need to pull the flag down to keep the wind from breaking off the pole.

We had a tornado warning for several hours today. Had some wind, but not bad. Thankfully.

Rock and rolling! Hard rain. So hard I can't see out more than a few feet. Now dark so will have to wait until the morning to see what happened, washouts etc. Good thing is the power is still on. My stand-by generator is scheduled to be installed on the 8th of July, but the gas company can't do the line until the 17th.

Tornado warning in my area last night. The cell that produced visually confirmed rotations (and perhaps funnels) was just a few miles south of me - going thru 2 towns that abut mine. Had the kitties caged up in case I needed to wheel them into the hallway and shut bedroom doors.

A friend of mine was directly under the path of the storm as it headed east. She and her dog spent some time in her basement.

Funny, earlier that day my FB memories had come up and on that date in 2015 my area was under a tornado warning.

Yikes, can't like that, thank you for sharing it. So even in hilly areas there can still be tornados. Had one a few years back in this area that came down over a hill and crossed over a lake. sheared off all the trees in its path all at the same height. It went past a greenhouse less than 500 ft from its path and never touched it. Can't even imagine what it would be like with all that glass swirling in the air.

Rough weather in the county again. I drove home just as it hit. North of my place, a lot of trees were down. Lots of power down.

I was on the generator for only an hour, but a lot of folks may be down a few days. No injuries yet.

Glad you didn’t have it worse. Some of the folks in the flooding areas have a nasty situation to get through. A couple weeks ago some places in Southern Florida received 20” of rain in two days.o_O
Minnesota has faced over 18” in the last two weeks.

Hey Eckie, thanks for asking. I was on the "dirty side" of the hurricane, so I received mainly medium winds and rainfall. But sadly, the winds took out the electrical power for two days but as of noon today things are back to normal. Anytime you can get thru a hurricane without loss of life and physical damage it's a good day. I have lived in this area all of my 70 years and have learned to prepare in advance and plan for the worst-case scenario.
Without a doubt this is the earliest in the season I have ever experienced a hurricane. I hope it's not a warning of more to come! :hair:

Too late for corn, but it may save some trees and will give the grass cutters something to do.
    System is moving NW.
