Before The Rain............

I did get some splitting done, pic 0055 is the pile I started with, it's a mixture of Birch (Yellow I think) Sugar & Red Maple.

This wood should be stacked before Thursday rolls around.

I'm starting to think you ought to keep track of your stacks by the mile instead of by the cord... ...

 

So, would the tape measure for that be in 1/10ths of a mile or what?
There should be a "rick" tape, or "face" tape measure. That's what I'm thinkin'.

 

Lookin real nice. Gonna look nicer once it's stacked. How far is the house from the stacks

 

Zap Cord... one mile of stove length wood stacked 4 feet high.

(Someone's gonna figure that in mortal human firewood terms... I know they are... )

 

My counts are by a cord not face.

I'm workin' on it, but it may be WAAAAY above my pay grade.

 

Things are coming much better than I thought they would, I just need to split some Pine, Maple, and a few rounds of Beech.

 

Up hear they'll say, I burned 20 cord, they mean face cord.

All the sellers up here sell by the cord until you ask them if it's a real cord or a NY face cord........... then they'll tell you a face cord.

After I get this stacked, I'll start hauling some Cherry out of the woods.

 

I did a little stacking this afternoon from the wood I split in my original post, I still have some on the ground that might go in a different stack.

I still have some nice rounds in the woods that I'll get tomorrow so I can spit & stack it.

Picture 0058 is the top of a Red Maple that is hanging by a thread over the part of the county snowmobile trail that comes through our property.

 

Looks good as usual. How many cords do you think you've got stacked now?

 

I'd say you need to take down that Red.
