Interesting. I've had this up two weeks. It was hanging under the deck roof in the shade. Nothing. I hung it outside the roof in the sun yesterday afternoon and caught this one today before noon. Got lucky or its was something about the placement.

We have a real problem with carpenter bees. You cannot swat enough of them to make a difference, trust me! We hang two of the traps at our lean-to off the large equipment shed. If I forget to check them for a while the jars can be 1/3 filled or more. Any further additions to out buildings will be built with treated lumber, however the bees are less troublesome on painted surfaces. I hate those d*** carpenter bees:hair:

My experience is that they leave treated lumber alone, but perhaps it’s simply because there’s a plethora of untreated to choose from?

I will take a picture of my deck post...Maybe they normally won't, but at least one of the knuckleheads had a taste for some preservatives!

I'd say that is most likely...they'll chew on that if there's no "better" options close by

For now will be targeting Bluefin with some sharks as by catch. We are working on outfitting my buddy’s boat with gear to get out to the canyons. Immersion suits, life raft, Epirb and couple large sets of nuts! Lol
