white oak and some pine, I think longleaf but not sure, I don't really do much I.D on evergreens, I can tell a pine from a hemlock and thats about it
Sounds like plenty of time on the splitter! Splitter you built seem to be meeting most if not all of your expectations? I enjoy entirely processing a big tree like that to see how many face cord I can end up with from one tree.
Thanks, we just getting home from an antique tractor show. No fires allowed so not even a rank of wood against the cab!
I wish I didn't still have last weeks load on the truck, today is perfect wood cutting weather (well, for summer anyways) 71*, mostly cloudy, and low humidity with a nice breeze! Might hafta go cut some anyways...just have to stack it in the woods!
I got the tree out of the hayfield today. Dead ash, took a little but most I just moved into the tree line. It was as you say a good day weather wise. Good breeze and not too hot.
Nice tractor. Looks like the one I grew up on, Dad had a TO-20, then got a '62 TO-35 Ferguson, had 4 cylinder Perkins diesel engine, that's what I learned on.
