It was 35 degrees this morning and warmed up to 53 with overcast. I have the wood boiler shut down for the season and am using the gas heater. Been keeping the house a little cooler so I figured this afternoon would be a good time to watch my Phillies and have a fire going. Nothing like watching a ball game with a fire going.
What did you think of Hoskins when he played for the Phillies? It’s early and I know he’s coming off injury but I haven’t been too impressed by him as a Brewer so far.
I don't know what his numbers currently are but we loved him as a Phillie. He's a good clubhouse guy and teammate. He brings energy and excitement and he still hates the Mets which is awesome! As with most sluggers these days, batting averages aren't where I'd like to see them and they are extremely streaky. Hang in there, I think he will win you over.
He hit another solo homer last night (in a loss). I think good clubhouse guys are underrated nowadays. Especially with the young squad the Brewers are fielding this year. We’re going down to watch them Saturday against the Yankees. My sons finally old enough to go, hoping it’s a good game at least.
Seems to be the new thing the past few years. Have several days over 80, get to thinking about opening the pool for the season then BAM! Back to April temperatures. Nice weather to cut in anyway.
I've only been to 1 MLB game ever. It was at Fenway against the Texas Rangers in April. It was snowing.
So you are in a rain delay? Ill take damp days over hot Summer sun for firewooding any day. Do you cut in light rain/damp conditions Joe?
They are playing in Miami. And yes, sometimes. I don’t like doing much of anything in the rain though.
jrider Ángel Hernández to retire: Much-maligned MLB umpire calling it quits Do you think Bryce is sad?
I don't think anyone in the league is sad and as for Hernandez's career, it's the best call he's made!
I have been to 13 baseball stadiums but no new ones in the last dozen years or so once kids came into the picture. But my 12yo son loves baseball so I’m taking him on my ballpark mission. Since this is the last year the A’s play in Oakland I needed to get out there. My wife spent some time planning and me and the boy are headed out to Oakland 6/23 to see a game there and then catch a Giants game on 6/25 before flying out the next day. Pretty excited to share this with him.
That's awesome! Beats me taking (2hr 15min drive) the family to Target field for the first time to catch a Brewers/Twins game in July.. I've only been to Miller Park/AmFam field and the old Metrodome (before it took a dump...). Back In high school we actually got to play a game there.
