"A line of Generals at the ready! According to Tom Sarmento, the lead mechanic for the Dukes of Hazzard transportation crew, filming each episode required: 6 General Lees 8 patrol cars 2 Uncle Jesse pickup trucks 2 Daisy Jeeps 2 Boss Hogg Cadillacs 6 other cars/trucks for Cooter, bad guys, and automotive chaos. Not all cars were stunt cars, and "hero" cars were pampered. But because mishaps could happen, backup vehicles for both the first and second filming units had to be ready on demand. This kept the show production on schedule, despite the demo-derby nature of each episode. Mr. Sarmento, we salute ya! And your crew!" "Enos...you dipstick!"
