Still working on storm damage removal. Had a cherry tree that split into two trunks each with a burl. One burl didn’t make it through the last storm, and several other trees took it hard in this area. Ended up making a 400’ long trail that runs parallel to the road, 10’-14’ wide, to get our tractor through it for easier maintenance in the future. Smaller diameter wood, but I have a hard time leaving cherry, ash, elm, and apple wood to rot. Especially when it’s within eye sight of the house.
The first picture is from the edge of the lawn to the 90 degree left turn, the mini ex is at the turn point.

Looking from our other lawn back towards the turn point, and the stack of storm damaged 8’ logs from this cleanup.

I’ve still got to haul the stumps off, and bring the chipper through to chip the brush. I’ll take the trail once it dries a bit more and seed it.

Was mowing my property...and field trails this morning. I've got these new trail cams that send the pics over the cell towers directly to my phone. Went past the camera...a minute later my phone buzzed. How cool !
More proof that the bx2380 stays busy !

Finally got all of the storm damage logs piled in the wood yard from around the house. I haven’t even ventured out on the back property with a saw yet, but there’s several dozen trees that need to be cut up.

Got the last 4 tons of lime spread on the new field, disc harrowed, dragged, seeded and dragged again. 5 acres done out of the 10 acres that were forest a 2.5 yrs ago. I filled the bucket over 30 times with roots, sticks, and rocks. I’m hoping that this is done for now and I can let the pasture mix grow. I’ll go through it again and pickup any more rocks I find. The bush hog can chop up the little pieces of wood remaining.

Spent a couple hours expanding our raspberry patch transplant rows. When we bought the place the previous owners had planted cultivated raspberries, and they have spread and become mixed with grape vines and saplings over the years. We started making 50’ long rows to transplant them into, to keep them neat and tidy. There’s 139 plants in the first rototilled path of 3 rows. It barely made a dent in the existing patch.

Thanks! We are trying to bring some life back to this 200 yr old farm property. It’s a ton of work, but very rewarding to look at after the fact. Hard to think that two and a half yrs ago the field area was thick forest.

Picked up the new auger attachment with 12” dia bit for the mini excavator Friday, finally got time to get it mounted and put away today. It’s got 120 4’ deep holes to drill for fence posts this summer, well worth it to mount on the mini ex versus the tractor.

    Good choice!
Anyone who's ever hung off of a digging bar stuck into the back of the 3 point phd trying to make it dig, or spent an hour with a monster pipe wrench "unscrewing" the auger that's stuck around a root or rock (no reverse).... good choice.
