Pella? I've got nothing good to say about that brand. Anderson are great windows, now if you can get free windows it's hard to argue but I wouldn't pay much at all for Pella.

That's a great accomplishment. It has to be a great feeling to only have a car payment. You should treat yourself to something you have been wanting to get. Sometimes its the little things that make you happy.

We refinanced about 3 years ago when rates were great. It was an extremely smart thing that we refi'd when we did because it has saved us a ton of money.

Well, I've gone into payoff mode.

The truck payment was $504/month.. I've been paying $1000/mo.

I just dropped $8K on it, and with some overtime at work, hope to have it paid off by the end of the year.

Still have some money in savings, but have divested a LOT of it to pay off debt.

Chazsbetterhalf was very "money insecure" after her divorce. So she squirreled away money.

Never bothered me, since I was horrible at saving money. I earn it, I spend it.
    :picard:

We, as a couple, would've been debt free in about 2-3 years.

Insurance paid a lot of bills. And I can honestly say, we were both inadequately insured.

Good thing I'm still "young" and working.

I'm glad I had a lot more insurance on me, but even now I realize it would have not been enough to keep her secure.

Debt free, and "comfortable" savings are very different things.

I'm glad she never had to face a life without me.

I've got years to go yet, so I'm sure I'll be fine, or make a hell of a muck of it.

You are a good man Chaz. Mortgage paid in full is fantastic!! I guarantee you will never miss making those payments. The place is now all yours.

If you are like me, getting over your loss does not come easy and maybe never. Keep holding on.

Those 3 pieces of glass are 30” wide and 78” tall; 1 inch thick..
take hardware off sliding door. The down side they will not open. But 20 foot wall with almost 8 feet of glass in it. Glass cost was gas to get it.. TBH got 4 one shattered

Horkn all windows in house that open are Anderson 400 series full screen. Post & Beam hardwood floors It would look dumb to have vinyl windows in here

Lots of partying on pontoons; we call them "drunk tooners"; that seem to be in competition for who can make the loudest noise. Even the dogs will growl and bark at them!

But a crackling fire and enough of a breeze to help keep the bugs at bay......Yup!

Hmmm. Must have been a flurry of phone calls once she never showed up?

Congrats on the mortgage payoff! I have been there before and the feeling was great!

I am busting my azz to get mine taken care of so I can once more be debt free in my life. I will be under 6 figures of a balance this year barring any unforeseen circumstances. :handshake:

This is the toy I treated myself to when I was debt free. We had a blast with it!

Low % rates showed up, the place where I live now also showed up for sale. Sold everything and threw it onto my current place with no regrets!

Nice feeling every time a debt is paid off. I know some folks who keep a debt just to keep their credit rating. I knew someone who paid off all debt and no cards, then their credit score went way down. I have some old accounts I have kept open just for the credit rating. I'll charge something, then pay it off the next week so there is no interest and I stay in good standing. I have a Sams Card that collects rewards. I use that and pay it off every two weeks. I get about $500 back in rewards. It is a game but it works. Point is I don't buy stuff without the money to pay for it.

Yep, but I had a feeling she was with him so I wasn't quite panicked.

Well yooperdave 8 years ago the north wall of my back porch rotted.. went to change a window and pushed a 6 inch screw driver right through a 4x4
There’s a pic of it somewhere on here.

T-post supported roof while rebuilding .. wife liked it open you can put hinges on sliding doors also… wife wanted screens so built screen wall for bugs..

When I find a set without grid in glass I will replace..
It’s our 3 season porch slash mud room.

    I think I remember that post.....:BrianK:
