For years, 99 was dead set against having a lab. Now that we have one (of two dogs) she understands!

Not sure how we got from adding some windows for an optional view to not commenting on unsafe circumstances. Sorry my general "just an observation" wasn't welcomed into the general conversation. I should never have had the audacity to join in the conversation with a respectful but contrarian view and will try not to make that mistake again.

Geeze Bogieb....you don't have to take that tack! Your postings share a lot of knowledge on FHC. :handshake:

I agree with the comment savemoney made about the small window. Period. Can't understand why someone would not capitalize on the fantastic views that TrinitySouth99 is constantly sharing with us. (BTW, thanks as they are always nice pics)

Great just to have the opportunity to go fishing. Nice when you catch something worth keeping. Would not be any fun if you didn't have to work at it! I always loved the serenity of the still water and the sounds. Might be a loon calling, a frog's grunting or the hum of the insects. Then there was the entertainment of watching the bats over the water at dusk. Enjoy every moment of it you can.

Those Turds!! Sometimes they make plans on the way to school and don't tell me. Turns out she took another bus to WWW's work and they're planting flowers in the front planter. So I'm sitting out there in the field waiting for her bus here. And waiting and waiting.........

You did nothing wrong. In all honestly, this became the most aggression I've personally seen on this forum. (But I've seen far worse on some others)

I agree with the reason for wanting to add windows. But, If you genuinely can't understand why someone might not do such a thing, I have to assume you've always had enough money or credit to get more or less whatever you want; we aren't all so lucky. If that's an open room and it's a younger person with a decent paying job and carpentry skills, I tend to agree. A couple moderately large windows could be done for no more than a thousand dollars or so, including restructuring the wall. But to make the appearance of the house itself more balanced, and maximize the view, it would cost a bit more.
If it contains most of the house's plumbing, which would have to move elsewhere in the house, that's a massive renovation and if the owner is unable to do the work themselves, could easily cost $10,000 or more. Some people just can't come up with that, or need to put it towards other things as you said. I won't beat a dead horse and repeat myself, or what you said, any further.

I will say I "can't understand" a lot of people's decisions, but they say it takes all kinds. I don't understand why you'd buy a car instead of a truck when you have $70,000 to drop on a vehicle, but clearly others feel differently. But, I drove a car for several years when I "needed" a truck, because of a limited budget and my commute at the time.

I do have to say, confronted with the expense of a more extensive reno, I too might be inclined to settle for the upstairs view. There's two windows up there in a fairly small small space, and the view from upstairs is surely even better than from the ground level.

TrinitySouth99 I drove a FWD car with a trailer hitch for 2 decades.

If someone has carpenter skills find Pella sliding glass doors; they throw out warranty windows. The good one are triple pane glass; remove from slider and install.. 3 windows in my personal home are such.. I didn’t see it as aggression; I saw it as you can make excuses or you can get it Done!!

    Hey all..

Been a bit quiet for a spell, apologies for that, but most know what's been happening in my life.

Losing Chazsbetterhalf has left me in a bit of a tailspin, and I'm slowly coming to terms with my "new" reality.

But.. I wanted to share some good news with y'all fine folk.

I received the official notification today that the mortgage is paid in full.
