It was voted "English tree of the year 2016" Who knew such a thing existed. Anything like that here in the U.S. or anywhere else? That would be pretty cool.

yep, getting out of hand, except a couple of points, some things you just can’t put a price on, money can’t fix all things. Also, it was a DELIBERATE ACT, one of Malicious Stupidity, in which case, IMO, the Penalties should be of a ridiculous nature, hammer more people HARD, for acts of Stupidity like that, and maybe some will reconsider doing such acts, some will still do Stupid , but some will be deterred. Deter what you can, Seriously Punish those that aren’t deterred.

The “Not Guilty” pleas were pretty much expected, but I am curious about what evidence they have, that these were the culprits. If these are the culprits, I Hope that they are slapped with the Maximum Penalties possible

Capital punishment needs to return. They levy fines that no one can ever pay. Not really any point to that? I couldn't pay a 750k fine if I worked for another 70 years, and I'd be 116 years old by then. I'd likely request to be killed instead. Tort also favors the rich in that 'fine' means "legal for a price".
