In hindsight, I would buy these 2 saws again in a heartbeat. The 361 has been a faithful workhorse for 17 years and the 500i is just so fun to use. The 361 wears a 24” bar most of the time and I am really liking the 32” lightweight on the 500. I guess they are my 2 saw plan for now.
That is why I keep them in the mirror. There is a lot more bar in the stack than powerhead out. With them dogged in, a lot of wood would have to move before they could come loose.
I own both and they are great saws. Cutting mostly softwoods that's a great two saw plan. Been running the 361 as of late. 500i will see action soon on some big red oak. Looking at the pic I'd be nervous about them falling out but with those long bars they are safe. Just take it slower over the bumps though.
Your crazy for hauling saws like that. Power head weighs alot more than the bar. Voice of experience here, I have had a saw fall off. They stay on alot better if you have wood racks. Not trying to be mean, just advice.
