1968 Stevens, 17’2” SK class hull, with 3+3 recreational seating. Powered by a Corvette spec’d 327, turning a prop through a “V Drive” We drove from Portland, OR to Gardena, CA two weeks before my 3rd Birthday, and picked her up at the factory. On Father’s Day 2020, my Mom gave me the Best Gift that I could have asked for, she walked up, and handed me a plain white envelope, when I opened it, the titles for “Plum Crazy “, and her trailer were inside , I had no idea that she was planning that Although she is built from an SK class racing hull, she is optimized for Skiing, and isn’t as Fast as most assume when seeing, riding in, or driving her, about 50 MPH is the best that she can do, but she can do that with multiple skiers in tow The old girl is well past her 50th Birthday, but she turns plenty of heads on the ramp and at the beach Doug
Beautiful boat. 50 is nothing to sneeze at. I built a jet boat for myself about 5 years ago that would do about 40. A new neighbor moved in and saw mine and we built him one too. We clocked it at 40+ with 3 of us in the boat and two full fuel tanks. That's moving for a 14 ft aluminum boat!

Those Arima’s are popular boats, we see a lot of them, on the Nehalem River/Bay/Bar, where we fished a lot, on the Oregon Coast Doug
It’s been too long since we’ve been fishing and crabbing Getting ready at the Nehalem Bridge ramp Heading out, into the Nehalem Bay My “Favorite Deckhand” (my stepDaughter) showing off a Big Dungeness, “Outside “ the Nehalem Jaws Some Chinook from the Nehalem Doug
Dandy fish and crabs! I have given up on salmon and crabs inside Puget Sound. Way too many regs and exclusions and preferential treatment of certain groups. Will go to the coast later this year. Nice catch and Lassies!
Beach landing. Some days are much smoother and less eventful than others. This was a nice easy day with the timing off just a little bit. Photos by, PCphotolady. Owl
Man you guys have all the fun and some cool places to boat! We’ve had one short trip to a local reservoir this year so far and that’s it! Have a week coming up on one of the fingerlakes here in NY and I can’t wait! Boat stays in the water at our dock the whole time so it’s just turn the key and fish for 7 days!! Hopefully have some pics soon!!
Hats off to those involved! Florida deputy leaps onto runaway boat to stop it after driver falls off, video shows
It was a prospecting day. It didn’t do well. Found tons of fish in new spots but couldn’t for the life of me figure out what they wanted. Nice day for a boat ride though. I don’t get skunked often. Owl
Oh yeah, layers and foul weather gear for sure. Fisherman’s Memorial Gloucester harbor. Ocean was a bit sportier than we had expected and had to run farther than planned to find the fish but ended up with a dozen haddock and some cusk between the two of us.
