They're not very common - only one farm around me uses them. You know when they're going as you hear the boom every 10 seconds. It's the same farm that burns straw bales in the spring when there is a chance of frost.

Long day here. Up at 4:30 getting ready for setting up the booth at a fall festival. Out the door at 6:00 am. Set up and ready by 9:00am.

It was a great show. My favorite part was meeting and chatting with a lot of great people, and I picked up a few commission jobs. I also did ok and sold quite a bit of wood and forged items. I really need to make some more stock now.

The air was filled with the smell of apples, cotton candy, sausage pepper and onion sandwiches, coffee and candles. A scout pack was selling cider donuts, apples and cider next booth over.

There were some historic houses surrounding the festival that made it a real nice fall feeling. No leaf color change yet.

I'll be wrapping it up with some Chinese food take-out and spend down time with the family in a bit.

Oh I see. Like my husbands fishing cabin that I moved into after it became too difficult to travel back and forth! (thus the remodel).

Well today I am going to try to split some wood before it rains. There is an 80% chance of rain here today. Unfortunately I need to wait a little while to give the neighbors a chance to sleep a little later. Since it is Sunday I don't want to disturb them with the splitter or the chain saw too early. I have some pieces I cut just a little too long of course and will need to trim them down. So I will give them until 8:30 or 9:00. Hope it is not raining by then. When it does rain I think I will get to work on cleaning my attached garage. Man is my bench a mess. time to get things cleaned up and organized so I can get the truck in there now. Then time to clean the detached garage too. Between the two of them it will probably take me 3-4 hours. Tunes and caffeine will be involved.

Dam. Rain already. Not a lot, but enough to make everything real wet. Guess the wood will wait.

Well I got back on the painting this morning, second coat on the outside of the windows, and did some more of the stair treads. We got the passing shows also and its so sticky damp here that might not have been a good idea... In fact I almost wish I hadn't taken the ACs out friday.

Later on I decided to try and sneak in the overdue oil change on my wife's Pilot.. Garage is a mess and the sky is threatening so I was in a rush and didn't think to put on my mechanic gloves... Bad move because I slipped and sliced a knuckle open on the cat shield :picard: Why oh Why do they have to put that drain plug 2 inches from the exhaust?

damm that hurts... real deep cut but surprisingly didn't bleed much at all but I lathered it up with antibiotic cream and put a butterfly closure on it to be safe. My wife the nurse actually freaked out and was wondering if I need a stitch but its not bleeding so I think I'm good. Just really really sore, kinda hard to type now. (before ya ask, yes my tetanus is up to date)

Oh and after I got it bandaged up i put on some gloves and finished the car. Gotta get 'r done.

Then caught the last 5 of the pats game. Beer time.

Nice work Jeremy. Sounds like you got a few things done today. Always good to get something done with winter coming.

I puttered around today and cleaned up one garage, and am glad I didn't work too hard. I took the family and the mutleys for a walk around the trail through the woods on the property. They all really enjoy that. Some wet areas, not too bad, and everyone had boots on. (Well, except for the mutleys.:D)
