I have searched and searched for this topic and I thought I had seen a Greasy Shop Rag video discussing this but can't source it.

I have the NE 346XP and it leaks bar oil badly. I took everything a part and this one has the two piece clamshell hose that fits both halves around the oil pump. Online, there is a version marketed for the 346 that is one piece but the rubber portion that fits in the case groove only goes 1/3 of the way up the groove. Does anyone have any opinions? I thought the one piece was the desired one.

The half that seals on the case and hose that goes into the tank doesn't seem to get much pressure. It fits loose into the case and I believe it's leaking where it sits against the case AND/or around the oil pump halves.

    Thanks!
    Zack

Version that was in this saw in Pic 2
Version that I ordered in Pic 1 that is listed as fitting the 346XP

They all leak . Not familiar with the one piece hose though. I remove everything, degrease the parts completely, and put it back together with sealant. And then dent the bar plate slightly over top of where it presses on the oil hose and then tighten the screws down.

I will be doing that this time around, I think the case meeting the tube is creating my biggest leak. The confusing part is that both versions are marketed as fitting the 346.

I have yet to get one to stop leaking. Obviously, I am not using the proper sealant.

If mine starts to leak, I replace the 2 hoses w/ OEM and it stops. My 357 is basically the same pump/set-up and it doesn’t leak a drop, nor does my 365 or 394 but they are different. When I did have my 346, it got 2 new hoses w/ light sealant.
This does really well with oil.

I picked it up today! Must be a new product because I've only used Ultra Grey and Black.

Go very sparingly. It would be easy for squeeze out to cover the actual holes on the pump.
