'redneck' is often a derogatory term used by those with limited command of the english language.
'Merica is a term from an important and honored segment of American society. You know, like New Jersey dialect/accents.

North Jersey/NYC. Don’t lump us southern NJ residents in with them. :)

Wrong answer. Ask a Vet and they will tell you they fight to defend our right to free speech and the right to express our opinions. We don't have to agree with them or even like what they are doing but they do have the right.

Lots of folks seem to think the freedom of religion, speech and the like is only for what they believe in.

Agree and disagree. I don't personally know any Vets who feel they served so people could disrespect the flag. The ones I know would kick their rear ends.

Make sure they don't watch NFL, NBA, or support any other organizations who tolerate and actively promote disrespect to the flag and our national anthem.

I served and have even been to a flag burning rally. I was assigned to protect the protesters. I did not and do not agree with them but they do have there rights whether we like it or not.

    Disagree

Jill was a diehard sports fan, and a Vietnam era vet that was stationed in Thailand.

She was against all the kneeling BS, as was I.

Doesn't mean we don't respect their right to DO IT.. we just don't agree with their method of protest.

    Kneeling during the anthem.. disrespectful.

Burning businesses and causing major damage is NOT "peaceful protest".

The politicians that supported that kind of behavior should NOT be in office.

But, that's my personal opinion, and as such things go in NY, it's irrelevant.

I would stand up for a protesters right to "peaceably assemble".. even if I don't agree with them.

But I'd prefer to reserve the right of severe consequences for the rif-raff that want to cause destruction.

Not politically correct way to address the issue, but it nips it in the bud pretty quick.

As they seem to be finding out on college campuses these past days/week.

jrider I would not presume to know what your father would, or would not support.

I can say that I know many vets, some of them being Marines, that would support the points made by myself and Redneck

We didn't sign up to serve for those that agreed with our viewpoints on politics or life.

We signed up to be the protectors of the rights of all citizens.

Just seems like the fight is no longer an EXTERNAL threat, but an internal one.

Agreed. The military seems to be split on the issue much like the rest of us are.

Yep! It's funny that some people think redneck is a bad/derogatory term. Just shows how much they know. I'd rather be called a redneck than a lot of other terms, most of which are of a particular political side, so I'd better not say them here or some ppl may be offended....

What some people don’t seem to understand,
Is that the “Right” to Not be Offended, Doesn’t Exist
