Dumb question. You can put a regular bar on bow saw right? I've never been around a bow saw, but it looks interchangeable.
I believe the only difference is the clutch cover. Regular bar will work on a bow saw cover but not the other way around.
Thanks. I do want to use the bow also. Seems like it would make fun cutting in logs that are piled up
Yes, they are interchangeable. Older saws had a notch on the cover for the bow to go through. I used to swap back and forth years ago. Bow saw is what I learned on. Be VERY CAREFUL if cutting into a pile, kickback is greatly enhanced with a bow. They work best for a log or 2 laying on the ground. They were designed for cutting short length pulpwood, keeps the blade from getting pinched. I'll see if he can find the guards that go on top and bottom. The guy with the saw, Otis, was running his grandpa's Husky 66 with a bow, he said it caught a big vine, kicked back and caught him in the face. They are fun to cut firewood with though.
