The ground is still too wet to take the tractor into the woods..so decided to start cutting up the Maple I have stacked by my driveway. The 562xp and Kubota made it a very nice task !
Glad I planned right by having stuff on solid ground to do. Sometimes things go just as planned !

Some primo maple there. Nice when a plan works out.

Yeah I'm tired of ground that makes noise when you walk on it! Pretty swamped here in CT. Have a red maple cut that's been put on hold since November due to it.

More is coming. Another inch or two of rain over the next few days.

Regarding the last picture, cannot see end so don't know if it is a peavey or cant hook. I have a DLT Co. cant hook I bought 50 years ago and always take it along when cutting firewood. Very useful tool!

Dixie stuff is awesome. Their line used to be a lot larger before Columbus Mckinnon bought them. All kinds of cool logging tools. They still make the best chain binders around.

You and I were thinking alike earlier this week. I spent Tuesday cutting up the last of the January storm damaged wood, and then moved onto working on the pile of red oak. I Didn’t get it done, but closer just the three main trunk logs left. It was a good workout, I was hoping to split it this weekend, but it’s been raining for 3 days, so the ground is still squishy.
