These came yesterday. I wish we had this "high capacity quick fill" option when I was a kid.

Very nice. Is that yours? If so, is that a "cutting board" counter top? I have to put a small countertop in beside the stove in a rental house. They don't make the style countertop anymore that's in the house, so I was going to make a cutting board top since it's right by the stove.

If I ever made a career change, it would never be anything where I’d have to get up on a roof. :picard:
Recently got a new home insurance company and they came out unannounced to check out the shack. They dinged me on a few spots of moss growing on the west side of my roof (among other things) so I had to take care of that.

Just one I found for sale. Here's the best pic they show of the counter.

If it was on the west end of Random Island instead of the east, I'd be seriously wishing I could afford it.

Boy, it really chaps my azz how companies will send you revised tax info 2 weeks from D day (April 15)
I got burnt on this a few years ago by this same company (investment) and had to pay to have our tax return revised then...I decided then that from now on I'm going to wait until the last minute, so to avoid the same headache...well, dropped our stuff off with the tax guy yesterday, and today I get the mail and there is a revised 1099, from this same investment company!
Fortunately the tax guy said they haven't got to our return yet, and we will be going right by there later today anyways, so no big deal to drop the revision off, but its still irritating that they (apparently somewhat commonly) continue to revise this stuff so close to the 15th! :hair: Guess I need to wait until the last week maybe, huh?! :zip:

Maybe it's different for investment companies or maybe I misunderstand the law but I thought they had to have your info to you by the end of January?

Employers have until the end of January to cough up W2's, but investment companies, health savings accounts, etc. IME take their sweet time.

Wow, never had an insurance company come out and look at my property. They won't pay for your roof if the moss destroys it anyway.

You might be surprised...they usually send someone out to just do a walkaround, take a few pics...they never schedule it, just show up, at least that's how its always been for us, and I know guys at work have experienced the same. The only ones that ever needed inside was an appraiser.

The guy really cheesed me off. It was raining and 40 degrees out, 7am, I'm walking outside to bring my kid to the bus stop, and this minivan shows up out of nowhere. By appearances alone I can tell already he's not somebody I'd willingly interact with under any circumstances. He gets to wandering around and he homes in on my woodpiles of all things :hair: I can see by the look on his face that he has no idea what he's looking at. I get a report a week later from my agent that he wants all the "debris" cleaned up, as he worded it. I have a feeling they're going to nitpick everything and I'll be switching companies in short order.

We changed insurance in 2017. Agent came out, took pictures, measured exterior, measured and took pictures of outbuildings, looked at wood stove (didn't measure clearances ), asked a few questions, and seemed satisfied with everything. Our annual premium ended up being about half of what the previous company charged.

We have gotten those for kids party’s in the summer. I have spent hours picking up little bits of rubber so the doge doesn’t eat them. They have been banned at our house. But we get them when we go to others! :D

Darn. Sorry! (btw, we were dinged an extra $180 for trash pick up because we put large splits on our dumpster lid because of racoons. Fee for them to come back after I took the splits off) It's a trap!

I fired my financial advisor today. He is on vacation so it was via email. He is related by marriage so things might get interesting.
