Most of the time the rootball falls back into the ground after cutting within a few feet of it. Have buggered up a few chains trying to get one last round out of a blow down. The best wood is closest to the rootball.

Shows your point in life when jacking up a tree and cutting it up like butter gives you a thrill.

Will bank over 1k with this 23 incher when seasoned and feed my wood stove with the limb wood for many cold nights. Was working in shorts and a t-shirt today and constantly looking for ticks. All the usual bugs seemed to suddenly appear today.

Close to 20k out of the wood yard YTD. More than double the first three months of last year and still have over a week to go. Love my hickory restaurant gig. Consider it my firewood annuity.

A frequent thing. A firewood customer wants me to cut a problem tree down for them. I typically decline when it is within range of a structure or power line. 9 times out of ten I can put a tree down within a few feet of where I aim. His 30” maple was leaning away from his house, but a huge high limb was angled towards his house. So declined and told him to find a professional with insurance. I have about a dozen trees on my property that would make a ton of firewood, but don’t feel safe going after them. KISS. Keep it simple stupid is my motto. Haven’t damaged anything or hurt myself yet buying and reselling firewood.

Awesome hickory is below 15% moisture without rot or pests and perfect hickory is below 15% moisture in exact 16" splits of equal size. I charge the same for each.

Outside of the Winter months, $280 a face cord or $840 a cord. $890 plus tips for a cord in the Winter. Price isn't a big deal in Nashville. If you have the good stuff it moves.

Yep, football in the Winter and outside smoking, camping and Solo stoving in the Spring. June and July are my slowest months.

Considering quitting the firewood business for vehicle detailing. Decided to totally empty, vacuum and clean the interior of my truck this evening since it has been about two months since I did it last. Found an envelope with $890 in it between the seats. So banked major bucks in a hours worth of cleaning. I seem to have a cash management problem. In my defense, I was banking $900-1,200 a day delivering firewood from mid December to early February. I now have a pocket folder where all my cash and checks go into immediately and I log it all before departing. Have lost a number of Benjamins by just stuffing them in my pockets.

This is the visual difference between awesome and perfect hickory. Benjamins received are the same.

Wooowwww…hold on what are the measurements for your “face cord” the definition is 16” wide, 4’ tall, 8’ long…

Is that what you get $280
    For???

We call a face cord a “rik” here, and maybe cost 60-75$…
