I have put my bench grinder through hell since I purchased it doing chains as a side business. Last night the switch went out and it died. I called Timber Tuff and in less than 3 minutes there USA based call center had the switch on the way with no question about the purchase date! They simply said we aim to please And where very polite.... I am spreading the news they rock!

Maybe we should add a section to the ratings & reviews forum for companies and there support?

I've never had to deal with them personally, but their grinder is a great buy! Cheap and functional

Pete, which grinder do you have? I keep hearing mixed reviews on the small one that our local shop has.

If that machine is the major equipment for your side business, I would say that's a darn good deal. The fact that they back it up no questions asked is outstanding. Is there any call for sharpening circular saw blades. Most of mine are carbide tipped. I was told they can't be sharpened. I don't really know but that might be another need.

Stihl makes a circ saw blade attachment for the USG grinder and also the proper wheels to grind carbide teeth.

You know, I don't remember either, just that I was told that. Have any idea about the cost?

Its funny that the conversation led here. My Dad showed up at my house last spring with a circular saw blade vise that was older than me but mint and said " here's another device that you didn't know you needed". I didn't know they existed. Like most people, I assumed that circular saw blades were disposable.
Now I just need to figure out how to use it.

Circle saw blades are disposable to all us who buy cheap blades but to carpenters who buy $80-100+ blades they sharpen them. Some blades may cost more than I listed I dont know. I am no carpenter...I play in the house but use cheapo stuff.

I did work for a carpenter/cabinet maker in high school though and he sent blades out for sharpening

that's true some blades will cost less to replace them than to sharpen them.
It cost me 20_ 25 bucks to get my 10 inch table saw blades sharpened but they cost 100 to 150

I am on my 2nd Timber Tough in less than a month. The first one failed after just maybe 10 chains. The pin hole got wallowed out and the pin kept sliding out. Plus I could move the whole grinder head side to side nearly 1/4"

Not sure how the new one is yet, came in the mail a few days ago and I haven't had time to open it. I'm hoping I just happened to get a defective unit.

Aside from that issue it has worked good doing 0.050" 3/8" chains and 0.080" .404" chains.

Does it slow down or do you have to keep going all winter?

It stays steady year round. This winter I plan to be trucking and working in the woods (feller bunch and skidder) and maybe try and build up some piles of firewood.

How do you manage to get everything done when you only have 6 hours of daylight.
