Oak a plenty. I've been splitting oak this week and it just splits so sweet. Good job The Wood Wolverine

Some of the dead Ash that I've been bringing home from my buddy's land has barnacles on them too. Totally good wood, just a bit of barnacle acton. Lol

Love that term. Nice job Tony!

I got around to splitting that barnacle wood with the rest of the "leaner" wood. 2-3 rounds went in the firepit pile. I'd have to look back to see when I bucked that up but I know it wasn't very long ago. Tony's woods are thick and laying on the ground broke that oak down quicker than I've ever seen.

Nope, not lifting 17" rounds in one piece. I'd be halving or thirding them. Try the Isocore since those split so easily. Save your back my friend.

Absolutely will pop em in 1/2 before lifting to split. I rolled these rounds into Tonys Bobcat bucket to load. Then just let them fall unloading and again tumbled them up onto each other to stack. They weren’t hateful at that size.

Maybe I'm just turning into a pansy being an old fart, but it seems the rounds i section are getting smaller and smaller in recent times. Unless the trees are getting heavier???

No Brad you are probably like me it took you hurting your back to realize that we are not impressing anyone lifting heavy rounds when we can show we are smart and cut them in half

Nice work Jason! Bet that Snowbear trailer has some stories about the wood it’s hauled over the years…

No doubt. I’ve always treated it this way. Paid either 4 or 450 for it probably about 12 years ago. Being honest, the only love I’ve shown it, new wheels ant tires, greased bearings and an LED lights. It owes me nothing. I’ve been wanting to sandblast and repaint. It’s on my to-do list.

Got the second tree today. Boss sends me a pic and asks if I can cut this down when I come.

The Wood Wolverine That river birch is some pretty nice firewood, how do you like the "paper" bark for getting a fire going? I'd think its excellent, I try to avoid lighting the wood stove (we have 3) since it always involves going outside in the cold to get more wood LOL
That full truck load of logs is making me wonder, Do we have a thread here to show off our loaded/overloaded trucks and trailers? I suppose I could use the search function but where's the fun in that? I'm sure I have some pics worthy of that thread if there is one!

EDIT, Found the loaded truck pics thread, disregard

I've never burned this type of birch before so it'll be a few years before I can give feedback. And the loaded truck pics thread is probably my favorite thread on the forum! Post up your pics for sure.

That's a nice load. Get that birch split soon, it rots fast if left in the rounds

Thanks for the tip. Will it split easy with an Isocore? Hate to dig out the hydro for just a few rounds.

Or at least take the bar tip and "unzip" smaller rounds (stuff too small to screw around splitting) just a stripe down one side is enough to release the bark as it starts to dry...
