    Figured you’d know them:
“The band is also known for reuniting Anthrax members Scott Ian (guitars) and Charlie Benante (drums) with their former bassist Dan Lilker.”

Yup! The song "kill yourself" was played often. Wonder if the PMRC got after them for it??? Anthrax and Slayer my favs of the BIG 4. Early Metallica too. Anthrax puts on an awesome live show in a smaller venue. Very energetic and interactive. Never saw them live with John Bush on vocals.

Along one of my morning walk routes, I've noticed a number of blowovers. Upon closer inspection, it's BL.

The area is adjacent to a property of a friend of my wife. When asked who owns the property, it turns out it's owned by my wife's friend! I did some cleanup on her property, a few years ago.

We'll go meet with her and review the area, just to be sure. Pictures will be taken. Less than a mile from here on a quiet road.

This one was the thickest. Maybe 7in diameter
    IMG_20240314_101610.jpg

Hoping for at least 1/2 cord.

There's a good chance there's more laying there once I get in with a saw.

Not sure when I'll get to it, though. Maybe an initial assault on Saturday.

Nice Mike. BL always grows in the most heavenly environments :)
I’d shoot for taking the oldest blowdowns first,,,,if possible. Anything to leave the bark there :)

Looks typical of BL blowovers I see. Must be shallow roots. A bit of work but some primo firewood to come out of there.

It's been a bit since I last went roadside scrounging.

I think I'm ready to hit it tomorrow morning. Everything except 2 saws and a milk crate with oil/gas, is loaded to go.

The rounds to the left, are a bit green. The tree was mostly horizontal but still intact enough to have life.

The poles are free of bark.

Not sure when I'll go back. Maybe tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Even though I'd never order a vehicles with a vacuum, I must say it was handy to clean up stuff that escaped the tarp.

    Nice stuff Mike.
Now to clarify, are you saying your new scoot has a built in vacuum?

My turn to piggyback on Brad’s BL thread :) Grabbed a few barkless BL skinnies this afternoon and an ancient chestnut fence post for fun.

    Indeed it does.

No spare tire, but it can suck.

Ive encountered blow over BL's that are still alive despite being horizontal for years. They send shoots up perpendicular to the trunk. Rather cool seeing nature's persistence.

I went and got more BL this morning.

Although, I think it might be honey locust, or a mix. I came across a thin attached branch with thorns on it, as well as scattered seed pods about the length of your thumb.

Anyways... I was tossing the goldilocks logs to an area with easy access out of the brush.

Those upright pieces are from today.

We have some wet weather coming in. That and some calendar events, makes me think I'll not be back for a bit.
