More tomorrow. Waiting on a new flywheel. The original had the key mostly gone and someone egg shaped the hole trying to tighten it. My assumption anyway.

 

How did you save the stickers when you dyed the tank? That saw is going to look pretty cool!

 

Thanks bud. I got lucky. They just didn't take the dye. I removed the pull start center to make sure that didn't turn black. The plastic shield inside the pull start didn't take any dye either.

 

Waiting on the flywheel from stihl. Spit shined it with some Amsoil Mudslinger. Not crazy about the little white patches between the orange hood and black tank but I'll get over it.

 

This flywheel ordeal is definitely putting a damper on test firing it.

The flywheel is in. Off to the dealer this week to snag that. Soon I'll be firing up 241 #2. If the hack that ported it did a decent job, it's coming to Denny's GTG along with the XS241.

 

This project is complete.

I'm bringing it to Dennis's GTG for people to play with. Bring cash...or something to trade I can't live without. Lol

 

So my cousin stopped by today bringing gifts...

These are Stihl chains. Used till dull and tossed by his employer. They get them for $12 each because they are a big company and buy in large quantities. They are .325, 68 DL, .063. Five are full chisel and five are semi. I'm ordering one of those 18" Forester light bars to run these on 241 #2.

 

I guess I'll keep #2 for my GTG saw.
